• Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine clients’ mental health needs, establishing a strong therapeutic alliance from the outset.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to individual client needs—these may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy.
• Facilitate therapeutic sessions for individuals, couples, and families, ensuring that each session is structured to foster open communication and support.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software effectively.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic client care, attending regular meetings to coordinate treatment plans and share insights.
• Participate in continuous professional development through workshops, training, and seminars to stay informed about the latest advancements and practices in mental health care.

You will work primarily with underrepresented individuals and families, many of whom may be experiencing barriers to accessing traditional mental health care. Your role will focus on treating a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and substance use issues. Your empathetic approach will be crucial in building trust and helping clients navigate their mental health journeys.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field is essential for this role.
• An active, unrestricted Professional Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in the state of Florida is required.
• At least two years of counseling experience in a clinical setting is necessary to ensure you are capable of handling diverse client needs.
• Strong understanding of ethical and legal standards in mental health practice.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to effectively establish rapport with a diverse clientele.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
• Proficiency in utilizing EMR software and other relevant digital tools for documentation and client management.

• Specializations in family therapy, couples therapy, trauma therapy, or substance misuse treatment are greatly preferred.
• Hands-on experience in community health settings will give candidates a distinct advantage.
