Job Description
Join Allstate's Client Legal Services team as a Legal Administrative Assistant supporting attorneys handling insurance defense litigation matters. This role plays a critical part in the success of the legal team by managing attorney calendars, coordinating litigation activities, maintaining case documentation, and ensuring timely case progression. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal and administrative support to multiple Client Legal Services attorneys handling insurance defense litigation matters, including bodily injury (BI), uninsured/underinsured motorist (UM/UIM), homeowners, property damage, and PIP lawsuits.
  • Coordinate and manage attorney calendars, including depositions, hearings, mediations, court appearances, deadlines, and case management orders.
  • Open, maintain, and organize legal files, ensuring case documentation is accurate, current, and readily accessible.
  • Monitor litigation deadlines, procedural requirements, court rules, and records requests to support timely and compliant case management.
  • Prepare, file, serve, and process legal documents and pleadings in both paper and electronic formats, including e-filing through applicable court systems.
  • Manage high volumes of electronic correspondence, court communications, filings, and litigation-related documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with courts, opposing counsel, medical providers, vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain document organization, indexing, version control, and records management within legal case management systems.
  • Draft routine correspondence and litigation-related documents for attorney review, utilizing templates and established processes.
  • Support overall case progression by anticipating attorney needs, taking initiative, and collaborating effectively within the legal team.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Legal administrative, legal assistant, paralegal, or related legal support experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a litigation-focused environment.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology and litigation processes required; experience in insurance defense, personal injury, bodily injury, civil litigation, or criminal law environments is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF management tools, with the ability to efficiently manage and organize legal documents.
  • Demonstrated experience managing heavy scheduling, calendar coordination, and court-related activities.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience maintaining legal files, tracking records requests, and managing case documentation.
  • Strong technology skills, including experience with legal case management systems, electronic filing platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of initiative, professionalism, and ability to work independently while supporting attorney needs.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and experience working with medical records is preferred.
  • Familiarity with state court filing systems and litigation procedures is strongly preferred.

  • This role is primarily remote, with occasional in-person attendance required for meetings and other business-related activities as needed.

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is 19.76 - 30.33 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
