What is a remote motorcycle?

A Remote Motorcycle job typically refers to roles related to motorcycles that can be performed remotely, such as customer support, sales, technical consulting, content writing, or digital marketing for motorcycle-related companies. These jobs do not require in-person work on motorcycles but instead involve tasks that can be managed online or over the phone. Common employers include motorcycle manufacturers, parts retailers, and media companies focused on motorcycles.

What is a remote motorcycle?

A remote motorcycle job refers to positions within the motorcycle industry that can be performed from a location outside of a traditional office or dealership, typically from home or another remote location. These jobs may include roles such as customer service representatives, motorcycle sales specialists, digital marketing professionals, remote mechanics offering technical support, or content creators focusing on motorcycles. The increasing use of digital tools has expanded the types of motorcycle-related roles that can be performed remotely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote motorcycle technician, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Motorcycle Technician, you need in-depth knowledge of motorcycle mechanics, repair procedures, and diagnostic skills, typically supported by a relevant technical certification or vocational training. Familiarity with digital diagnostic tools, manufacturer-specific software, and virtual communication platforms is essential for remote troubleshooting and support. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills help build trust and effective communication with clients. These competencies ensure accurate diagnostics, efficient repairs, and high customer satisfaction in a remote service environment.

What are some common challenges faced by remote motorcycle mechanics, and how can they be addressed?

Remote motorcycle mechanics often face challenges such as diagnosing issues without immediate access to the vehicle and limited hands-on interaction with clients. To overcome these obstacles, they rely heavily on clear communication, detailed photos or videos from clients, and sometimes remote diagnostic tools. Building strong relationships with local parts suppliers and staying organized are also key for ensuring timely repairs and customer satisfaction. Embracing ongoing training in new motorcycle technologies helps remote mechanics stay competitive and effective in their roles.

When a friend gets a new bike you're the first person they call to help them decide what they need to kit it out. Most importantly, you are an excellent communicator, both verbally and written.
Our Harley Techs are V-Twin aficionados that are devotees of the powersports industry and understand the importance of assuring a great customer experience, driving sales, and providing support for all riders that contact us with technical inquiries related to their motorcycles.
Our next Tech Team Member will:
  • Handle all levels of interaction with customers via phone, email, live chat, and other communication channels to take it one step forward toward facilitating all aspects of customer interaction with polish.
  • Assist with questions pertaining to fitment, application, selection, and installation of motorcycle parts and accessories.
  • Advise on proper fitment and use of safety gear including helmets, jackets, pants, riding armor, boot, gloves, and more.
  • Help customers place orders for a complete customer experience.
  • Continually learn about a combination of some of the following: motorcycle parts and gear, motorcycle riding, motorcycle racing, dirt bike and offroad riding, adventure/touring riding, supercross/MX, bike modification, among others.
  • Work with a wide variation of teams on a case by case basis to ensure that we overdeliver in every opportunity is what this position is all about!
  • Be detail-oriented, proactive, and conscientious with a commitment to self-improvement.
  • Be an excellent, polished communicator via verbal communication, as well as written.
  • Have the drive to assist their fellow riders all day, every day.
