This full-time position is designed to be performed remotely, giving you the flexibility to manage your work from the comfort of your home or preferred setting. Although the role is remote, you will remain closely connected with your colleagues through regular virtual meetings and collaborative platforms to ensure seamless communication and care coordination. Our outpatient office structure ensures that you are well-supported in your therapeutic endeavors while upholding a commitment to high-quality client care.

Key Responsibilities

As a Telehealth Mental Health Counselor, you will engage in a variety of essential tasks that directly impact client outcomes:

  • Provide clinical therapy sessions, offering both individual and group counseling that fosters a safe, non-judgmental environment.

  • Conduct comprehensive client intakes, documenting histories and assessing needs to inform treatment strategies.
  • Collaborate with the VIEW team to optimize care delivery, sharing insights and strategies during regular team meetings.
  • Monitor and review client progress, making therapeutic adjustments as necessary to enhance recovery trajectories.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of innovative recovery-focused initiatives that empower clients.
  • Contribute to the continual evaluation and improvement of VIEW's mental health services, applying feedback to refine practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your counseling efforts will primarily target a diverse adult population, many of whom are navigating complex emotional, behavioral, and substance use issues. Engaging with clients who may feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or marginalized, your work is instrumental in providing a pathway to recovery. You will help clients cultivate resilience, regain control over their lives, and establish meaningful connections with their support systems.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related field.
  • Active licensure through the Washington State Department of Health as an LMHC, LICSW, or LMFT.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant clinical experience in mental health counseling.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a focus on active listening and empathetic engagement with clients.
  • Proven ability to build trust and rapport, fostering a safe atmosphere for client exploration and growth.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a team setting, contributing clinical insights and recommendations from a multidisciplinary perspective.
  • Commitment to reducing stigma surrounding mental health and substance use challenges.
  • Willingness to undergo a criminal background check as part of the hiring process.
Preferred Experience

While the above qualifications are essential, additional experience that will enhance the effectiveness of your counseling practice may include:

  • Specialization in trauma-informed care approaches or cognitive-behavioral therapy.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote counseling methodologies.
  • Active involvement in professional development activities such as workshops, trainings, or conferences.
