• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored for elderly clients, identifying specific emotional and psychological needs that require intervention.
• Provide individualized and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing unique emotional challenges faced by seniors, including coping strategies for grief, loss, and transitions in life.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to create and implement comprehensive care plans that outline individualized strategies for improving clients' mental well-being.
• Facilitate educational workshops for families and staff, imparting knowledge on effective strategies to enhance emotional resilience and overall quality of life for elderly individuals.
• Deliver grief counseling and support to clients and their families navigating end-of-life issues, promoting mental wellness during difficult times.
• Initiate and manage cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions, fostering engagement and mental acuity in elderly residents.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification in the state of Florida.
• At least 4 years of recent experience in geriatric counseling and providing mental health support to elderly individuals.
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities relevant to geriatric populations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect and empathize with elderly clients.
• Ability to conduct thorough mental health assessments and design personalized treatment plans.
• Understanding of ethical and legal standards pertinent to mental health counseling for older adults.
