Gotham Enterprises Ltd is eager to welcome a talented and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist to our progressive telehealth team. This full-time remote position is ideal for professionals who seek to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals facing challenges related to eating disorders. You will play a crucial role in aiding clients through their mental health recovery journey.

Gotham Enterprises Ltd operates an innovative psychiatrist MD practice based in Norfolk, Virginia. We specialize in outpatient mental health services, with a particular focus on helping individuals overcome eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating disorder. Our mission is to empower clients through evidence-based therapeutic practices, providing a supportive and understanding environment for recovery.

Work Environment

This role is a remote position, allowing for flexible work-life balance while maintaining high standards of care through our telehealth platform. Regular business hours are maintained, with scheduled therapy sessions taking place from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. As part of a dynamic and collaborative virtual team, you will engage with both clients and colleagues via secure video conferencing tools, effectively balancing individual therapy with team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and individualized assessments to evaluate clientsโ€™ symptoms, including the severity of their eating disorders and any co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Design tailored treatment plans in collaboration with clients, ensuring achievable goals that focus on holistic recovery strategies.
  • Utilize a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to address clientsโ€™ emotional and psychological needs.
  • Facilitate regular therapy sessions to challenge and reshape clientsโ€™ distorted perceptions pertaining to food, body image, and self-worth.
  • Guide clients in developing healthy coping mechanisms, enhance their emotional regulation skills, and equip them with strategies to combat disordered eating behaviors.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated treatment team to ensure seamless care coordination and continuity of treatment, addressing all aspects of clients' well-being.
  • Provide psychoeducation to both clients and their families to foster understanding and support around the complexities of eating disorders.
  • Document clientsโ€™ progress, treatment plans, and notes from therapy sessions diligently, upholding all legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in regular team meetings, case conferences, and continuous professional development activities to remain informed about the latest trends and research in eating disorder treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our work primarily focuses on individuals grappling with various eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating, often compounded with additional mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression. This position offers you the unique opportunity to employ your expertise in a focused area, helping clients navigate the complexities of their conditions and promoting healthier and more fulfilling lives.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Virginia.
  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience in evidence-based treatments for eating disorders, including CBT, DBT, and ACT.
  • Deep understanding of the intricate nature of eating disorders and their associated comorbid conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to cultivate trust, empathy, and rapport with clients.
Preferred Experience

Experience working within a telehealth framework is highly desirable, along with demonstrated proficiency in the treatment of eating disorders. Candidates with specialized training or certifications in eating disorder treatment are encouraged to apply, as this will enhance the therapeutic offerings available to our clients.
