Tetra Tech is adding an Intermediate Civil/Structural Engineer to our Civil/Structural team based in Calgary, AB.

Your Role:

  • Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and industry standards, engineering formulas, and experience.
  • Work with lead engineers to scope out projects, establish project objectives.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines such as mechanical, electrical etc.
  • Produce sketches to be incorporated in models/drawings by designers/drafters.
  • Provide construction support including review shop drawings, respond to RFIs etc.
  • Develop construction cost estimates for projects within the department.
  • May serve as Project Engineer and as a designated client contact on smaller, less complex projects.
  • Organize, draft, and coordinate technical documents.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of design experience in EPC or consulting industry preferred.
  • Active P.Eng status in Alberta and/or BC.
  • Experience with site grading and roadway design an asset.
  • Good understanding of applicable industry codes and standard practices.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive client and project team relationships.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Responsible for adhering to all health and safety policies and guidelines.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
