Job description

We're Looking For A: Sr. Story Producer

Location: Hybrid (Woodland Hills, CA)

What You'll Be Doing: As the Sr. Story Producer for Golden Hippo, you will write, direct, and produce direct response video ads that acquire new customers across FB/IG, YouTube, TikTok and other social channels for brands that sell supplements, pet food, and beauty products directly to consumers.

  • Oversee the creative execution of short-form and long-form Marketing videos using a data-driven, test-and-learn approach across the entire project lifecycle, from ideation to testing and optimization.ย 
  • Conceptualize new angles, write scripts, oversee on-set execution, and supervise editors on final edits and deliveries to Media Buying team(s).ย 
  • Conduct documentary-style, on-camera interviews that elicit pithy compelling responses from brand "gurus" and customers (ie testimonials) and other on-camera talent.
  • Work with videographers to gather video assetsย  (i.e. Identify needed video cover, set-up locationsย  and direct videographers to shoot b-roll).ย 
  • Analyze performance data, and use data to create incremental video optimizations that scale.
  • Become specialized in at least one brand and/or multiple offers and own Storyteller's creative contributions to those brands/offers.
  • Informally mentor/manage a Junior Story Producer and improve their creative output.
  • Own communications between Storytellers and external stakeholders regarding testing pipeline and prioritization for offers you own.
  • Regularly report on brand/offers performance to ACD and/or CD.
  • Owning creative deliveries on an offer including writing/optimizing VSL scripts.ย 

Qualifications (Note: We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don't tick ALL of these boxes.):

  • Exceptional non-fiction storytelling skills (ie broadcast journalism, documentary filmmaking).
  • Exceptional copywriting skills.
  • Mastery of on-set creative leadership.
  • Ability to formulate strategies on how to market health and wellness products in fresh, creative and different ways.ย ย 
  • Deep understanding of digital mediums.
  • A highly creative self-starter who can work both independently and collaborate well with different teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Management and mentorship experience with evidence of success.
  • 5-7 years writing & directing in a visual medium.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Writing, Film, or a related field (preferred)
  • 8-10 years experience writing & directing in a visual medium, ideally with some advertising/marketing experience (preferred)
  • Management experience (preferred)

The base salary range is $90,000-$120,000, plus annual & monthly KPI bonus potential.
