Nexstar Media Inc.’s Portland, Oregon, operation – KRCW/Portland’s CW and KOIN-TV – is looking for a Lifestyle Show Producer for its hour-long weekday lifestyle show Everyday Northwest. You’ll be working to grow this show, overseeing daily operations, booking guests, helping to get the show out of the studio and into the field producing on location. You’ll work closely with the show anchor, as well as other staff to create the most entertaining and locally reflective show in the market offering segments and profiles of living in the Pacific Northwest while featuring local businesses throughout the Portland‑Vancouver‑Salem DMA and beyond.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Line produce and booth the daily, hour-long lifestyle show
  • Create rundown
  • Write and approve scripts
  • Create and insert graphics
  • Communicate changes to anchor and director
  • Help concept segments and features
  • Schedule and book guests
  • Work with Anchor/host on interviews and on-location segments
  • Balance feature content to create compelling shows
  • Edit video
  • Interact with viewers and users on social media
  • Work with sales department, Sales manager, and General Manager to plan weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual sales-related segments and programs
  • Attend sales calls with key clients when presenting segment and program ideas
  • Collaborate with Creative Services Director and Digital Director to expand reach and branding of show
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills
  • Software: ENPS (preferred), Adobe Creative Cloud, Premiere, Photoshop, Bit Central
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
  • Deadline driven and works well under pressure
  • Creative thinker who isn’t afraid to try new ideas
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Minimum on year experience in news or live show production
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

High stress environment with deadline pressures. Position will require day-to-day multi-tasking, as well as managing multiple projects simultaneously with frequent change in direction and priority. May be required to work weekends (Saturdays and Sundays). Occasional travel will be required. A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required. The employee in this position must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co‑workers, work near others, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions. Position may also require work in extreme outdoor temperatures.
