Job description

Television News Producer
WINK News-Southwest Florida's news leader has an immediate opening for an experienced news producer. We are looking for a talented producer who can take our newscast to the next level. Must have solid writing skills, sound news judgment and strong organizational abilities. Must also be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines and work well with others in a fast-paced newsroom.
MUST HAVE:
  • At least two years of producer experience in a television newsroom.
  • Passion for the job with strong news judgment.
  • A local news junkie mentality: knowing news of the day; having the vision and ability to advance the big story.
  • Above all, you love to write ... a word smith, grammar guru, courageous and creative storyteller.
  • Strong collaboration and time-management skills, attention to detail, comfortable with taking direction from supervisors and colleagues and the ability to quickly pivot when needed.
  • Flexibility to work any shift.
  • Proficiency in English.
PREFERRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to traverse the office workspace daily and occasional field work if needed.
  • Ability to perceive and respond to visual and auditory cues.
