Job description

My Auto Carrier, LLC is seeking an experienced Car Hauler Dispatcher for a full-time, work-from-home position.

This is not an entry-level or general freight-dispatch position. Candidates must have direct experience dispatching multi-vehicle car haulers and be able to manage assigned trucks independently.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of two years of recent car-hauler dispatching experience
  • Three or more years of experience preferred
  • Experience using auto-transport load boards
  • Experience communicating and negotiating rates with brokers and shippers
  • Ability to build efficient, profitable trips for car-hauler drivers
  • Experience coordinating multiple pickups and deliveries
  • General trucking or dispatch experience alone does not meet this requirement

Responsibilities

  • Search auto-transport load boards
  • Build and coordinate efficient trips based on vehicle capacity, route, mileage, timing, and revenue
  • Communicate and negotiate rates with brokers and shippers
  • Schedule and confirm vehicle pickup and delivery appointments
  • Verify addresses, contacts, operating hours, vehicle details, and special instructions
  • Provide drivers with bills of lading, route information, and load details
  • Enter and maintain accurate load information in the company’s trucking software
  • Communicate regularly with drivers, brokers, customers, dealerships, auctions, and other locations
  • Resolve scheduling, routing, load, driver, and broker-related issues professionally
  • Maintain complete and accurate records for every dispatched load

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of the auto-transport and car-hauling industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong rate-negotiation and trip-planning abilities
  • Ability to read maps and plan efficient routes
  • Ability to evaluate rates, mileage, deadlines, and vehicle compatibility when building trips
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong computer and data-entry skills
  • Working knowledge of computers, email, printers, and scanners
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
