As a Disaster Recovery Engineer you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and ensuring the smooth operation of datacenter facilities and the underlying IT infrastructure. This role involves handling physical hardware, software systems, networking, and environmental controls while ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. Experience: 3+ years of experience in disaster planning and business recovery

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the migration of the technical DR solution into the organization’s private cloud.
  • Assist in coordinating and establishing business continuity programs and business resumption planning across mainframes and client server platforms to ensure business continuity.
  • Interface with clients, vendors and company personnel to establish and monitor business continuity plans and procedures.
  • Coordinate and monitor simulation testing for platforms and assists in planning and organizing recovery tests.
  • Prepare pre-test objectives and post-test reports for clients and operations management personnel.
  • Assist in investigating, planning, documenting, implementing and maintaining business continuity plans to meet customer needs.
  • Advise and assist in formulating crisis management teams to ensure that business continuity plans are implemented consistently.
  • Assist with awareness incentives to ensure that clients are of aware of the company business continuity services as well as the policies and procedures associated with said services

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems or related field preferred
  • Three or more years of experience in disaster planning and business recovery

Technical Skills

  • Skilled System Administrator with both Windows and Linux
  • Very strong skills with ESX/VMware virtual environment, tools, and services
  • Basic knowledge of other operating system platforms such as Solaris and HP-UX
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Networking, Active Directory, and DNS
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery
  • Good working knowledge of Disaster Recovery principles, methods, and requirements
  • Good understanding and experience with server and data replication
  • Strong Program Management and coordination skills
  • Strong Teamwork and Communications skills
  • Public Cloud experience is a plus but not required
  • Experience working with mainframe and client server platforms
  • Experience working with company business recovery offerings and procedures

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Certified Disaster Recovery Engineer (CDRE).
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification.
  • Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP).
