Job description

Program Integration & Controls Director

Remote (EST Hours) | Contract-to-Hire (90 Days) Location: Fully Remote (U.S.) | Client based in North Carolina

About the Role

Our client, a leading technology company, is investing over $500M in capital projects across a large corporate campus environment. We are seeking a Program Integration & Controls Director to serve as the central coordination point across multiple concurrent construction and infrastructure projects.

This is not a traditional scheduler role. The ideal candidate will bring deep program controls expertise, construction project management experience, and the ability to identify risks, dependencies, and logistical conflicts across a portfolio of projects before they impact cost, schedule, or operations.

You will act as an extension of the owner's PMO, providing executive-level visibility into project performance, schedule integration, risk management, and cross-project coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an integrated master program schedule across multiple active campus projects.
  • Identify and manage dependencies, interfaces, risks, and conflicts between concurrent construction and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Lead program-level schedule reviews and validate project assumptions, milestones, and critical path activities.
  • Create and maintain program controls tools including:
    • Risk Registers
    • Dependency Registers
    • Interface Logs
    • Decision Logs
    • Milestone Trackers
    • Executive Dashboards
  • Assess project impacts and communicate risks, mitigation plans, and recovery options to leadership.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings with project teams, contractors, vendors, facilities, IT, and other stakeholders.
  • Support executive reporting by translating detailed project information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Monitor project readiness, resource constraints, operational impacts, and schedule health across the campus portfolio.
QualificationsRequired
  • 15+ years of experience in construction, program controls, project management, or capital program delivery.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-project portfolios in a corporate campus, commercial, healthcare, manufacturing, or similarly complex environment.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Program Controls
    • Schedule Management
    • Risk Management
    • Capital Project Delivery
    • Stakeholder Management
  • Ability to identify downstream schedule and operational impacts across interconnected projects.
  • Experience developing and maintaining risk registers and executive-level reporting.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to challenge assumptions and drive accountability across teams.
Preferred
  • Experience working for a General Contractor.
  • Commercial construction experience.
  • PMP certification.
  • Advanced CPM scheduling knowledge (Primavera P6 experience is a plus, but not required).
What Success Looks Like
  • A single, trusted view of program schedules, milestones, and risks.
  • Proactive identification of conflicts before they become schedule delays or cost impacts.
  • Clear executive reporting that supports informed decision-making.
  • Effective coordination across multiple projects, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Consistent risk management and dependency tracking throughout the program lifecycle.
Additional Details
  • Remote: Fully remote; candidates may reside anywhere in the U.S.
  • Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST
