Position Description:

The Director of Business Development provides executive level sales, leadership and strategic planning in the area of Business Development and Marketing within Sunburst Workforce Advisors to create Managed Services Programs (MSP). Areas of focus will be within all types of customers who are seeking a workforce solution. The Director of Business Development reports to the Vice President of Sunburst and works with VP of Strategic Sales, VP of Finance and Operations, Regional Vice Presidents (RVP), Finance teams, other Directors, colleagues, and other key stakeholders on overall corporate growth strategy. The Director of Business Development collaborates with divisional, local, area and regional leadership teams at Amergis Healthcare Staffing on identifying customers who are seeking a workforce solution. The Director of Business Development has specific responsibility for ensuring that the highest quality and competitive service offerings are presented to the organizations customers while partnering with delivery and operations to ensure high quality outcomes. The Director of Business Development also provides industry specific trends and knowledge, in addition to providing ongoing guidance on business development platforms, processes, and roles and responsibilities for the continuous improvement of new business within Sunburst Workforce Advisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Works with Vice President of Sunburst Workforce Advisors, VP of Strategic Sales, Area and Regional Vice Presidents and Market Leaders to serve as a thought leader and in the development of the company strategy and training approach by identifying areas of opportunity; determining priorities; and developing new business strategies
  • Works closely all team members within Sunburst Workforce Advisors to support and contribute to the divisions priorities, mission, vision, and core values aimed at increasing growth within the organizations workforce solution portfolio
  • Manages an active portfolio of BD targets, and executes on the growth of business through building customer management and fulfillment strategies
  • Directly develops and executes the BD strategy in adding new customers to the Sunburst Workforce Advisors portfolio
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations
  • Communicates daily with local, area and regional leadership on current market trends and opportunities
  • Travels often to visit current and future clients
  • Held accountable to multiple federal, state, program/contract, accrediting bodies and Maxim requirements
  • Performs other duties as necessary
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Marketing/Communications/Provider Relations preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in new business development and industry management preferred
  • Must meet all local, state and federal requirements
  • Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, with training/facilitation skills preferred
  • Excellent inter-personal skills. Ability to manage stress and maintain a calm presence under pressure and with tight deadlines. A good sense of humor and a positive outlook
  • Proven experience working with a mature business development process and scaling it to work at many levels within an organization and with a variety of key stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage complex teams, precise scheduling and multiple and shifting priorities
