Job description

Are you a dedicated Electrical Designer looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a talented professional to join a Leader in the Power industry.


Fully Remote

Contract to hire position

$40-$73/hr. DOE


Experience working on duct banks, cable trays, conduits, heat tracingย for power generation projectsย stronglyย preferred.ย 


Responsibilities
ย  ย Utilize applicable engineering national and local codes
ย  ย Design duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completion utilizing engineering documents, sketches or vendor data.
ย  ย Reports project progression updates and/or issues to project lead team.
ย  ย Coordinates with project team by utilizing the Project Database: Request for Review Process, Holds List, ECN, Request for information from other disciplines, and all other applicable functions.
ย  ย Develops 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skills. Checks and navigates in the 3D models for interferences and constructability.
ย  ย Routes electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedule.
ย  ย Model electrical components using vendor submittals and electrical designs
ย  ย Perform calculations to check allowable fill in conduits and cable tray systems according to NEC requirements and size pull boxes.
ย  ย Perform calculations to size pull boxes according to NEC requirements.
ย  ย Gathers information needed to develop design and verify voltage separation requirements are met.
ย  ย Creates plan drawings and details for electrical deliverables.
ย  ย Analyze, inspect, and construct designs while adhering to electrical quality standards and department procedures
ย  ย Checks design for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements before submitting to checking.
ย  ย Resolves checked drawings; prove and understand comments made.
ย  ย Completes miscellaneous tasks to support project development.
ย  ย Acts as a field resource to assist construction in field resolution on issues.
Qualifications
ย  ย Experience in Design and Drafting disciplines
ย  ย Experience utilizing 3D programs such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, SP3D, and have knowledge of the latest computer operating systems
ย  ย Must be able to conceptualize in a 3D environment
ย  ย Ability to work independently with limited direction and oversight
