Unity Point Mental Health Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team on a full-time basis. This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility for counselors to choose their working hours while supporting patients across various time zones. Our telehealth facility is equipped with user-friendly technology that facilitates seamless virtual communication, allowing counselors to engage with clients effectively from their homes. Despite the remote nature of the role, counselors will maintain close collaboration with colleagues and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations, crisis interventions, and follow-up care for clients via telehealth platforms.
• Assess and determine suitable dispositions for patients, ensuring they receive the appropriate level of mental health care.
• Complete detailed documentation while complying with regulatory requirements and maintaining confidentiality.
• Coordinate with external entities, including the Department of Corrections, to ensure the timely access to patients' needed resources.
• Lead group therapy sessions on mental health observation units and provide psychoeducation to clients as assigned.
• Engage in regular clinical supervision with a Clinical Supervisor to enhance professional development and ensure quality care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences to discuss patient treatment plans and progress.
• Support the implementation of psychological testing when required and mentor interns or students under supervision.

As a Mental Health Counselor at Unity Point, you will work primarily with a diverse patient population dealing with a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral disorders. Our clients come from various backgrounds and are often in need of crisis intervention, making compassionate, culturally sensitive care essential for positive outcomes. You will play a vital role in helping patients navigate their challenges, promoting overall mental wellness as they work towards recovery.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling is required.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a valid state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker with R Privilege (LCSW-R) is essential.

While a Bachelor’s degree is minimum requirement, candidates with a Master’s degree in a related field and prior experience in a mental health setting are strongly preferred. Ideal candidates will have experience working in telehealth environments and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a capacity for empathy and understanding towards patients.

Unity Point Mental Health Center offers a competitive salary ranging from $115,000 to $130,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition to attractive financial compensation, we provide an array of benefits including:
