• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments, collaborating with clients to set recovery goals.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as CBT and DBT, to facilitate effective counseling sessions.
• Participate in optional monthly peer group meetings for collaborative learning and support within the counseling community.
• Provide psychoeducation to clients about community recovery resources such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Smart Recovery, and Moderation Management, emphasizing their value even when used in conjunction with our services.
• Encourage and motivate clients to utilize both clinical and community-based support systems during their recovery.
• Minimize administrative burdens by leveraging our support team for scheduling, billing, and other back-end processes.
• Create content for “Expert Insights” in partnership with our Content Manager, sharing knowledge to enhance community support and patient engagement.
• Conduct virtual support groups, contributing to peer-led resources while fostering community connections.
• Handle client referrals seamlessly, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality counseling.

Our clients come from diverse backgrounds and present a range of challenges, particularly relating to their relationships with alcohol. Many clients seek support not only for abstinence but also for moderated drinking. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will guide them in navigating their unique goals within a harm-reduction framework, recognizing that each individual's journey is different.

• Must possess a valid LCSW, LCSW-R, LMFT, or LMHC license in the state of New York.
• Experience with evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care.
• Strong understanding of the harm-reduction model, ensuring sensitivity to client preferences for moderation or abstinence.
• Exceptional clinical engagement skills with a focus on empathy and supportive communication.

• At least three years of relevant clinical experience in a mental health or substance use treatment setting.
• Certification or specialized training in motivational interviewing or community recovery support models.
• Familiarity with digital counseling platforms and delivering remote therapy.

This role offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
