Work EnvironmentThis role is designed as a fully remote position, which allows for flexibility in scheduling and work-life balance. You will operate within an outpatient office setting remotely, offering counseling services to clients throughout the Troy, New York area and beyond. This remote work allows you to set your own availability, with no minimum number of required hours, providing you with the freedom to create a schedule that works best for you while ensuring comprehensive support for our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with clients through virtual counseling sessions, utilizing various therapeutic approaches to facilitate meaningful conversations and support their recovery journeys.
- Utilize evidence-based treatment methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care.
- Collaborate with our team and engage with community resources, encouraging clients to utilize additional support systems such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), SMART Recovery, or Moderation Management as complementary services during treatment.
- Set your own session availability, allowing for personalized scheduling that meets both your needs and those of your clients.
- Handle administrative tasks efficiently. Our support team will manage billing and scheduling, allowing you to focus on providing quality care.
- Participate in peer support groups and ongoing professional development, including obtaining continuing education units (CEUs), with costs covered by the organization.
- Create expert insights and resources in collaboration with our Content Manager as an optional way to contribute to the organization’s knowledge base.

Applicants should understand and implement a harm-reduction model effectively while respecting each client's unique goals for treatment. Qualifications- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
- Candidates must possess a current state license such as LCSW, LCSW-R, LMFT, or LMHC.
- Demonstrated training, certification, and experience in utilizing therapeutic modalities including CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing.
- Strong clinical engagement skills with a commitment to showing empathy and understanding towards clients.
- A solid understanding of community recovery support options is essential, as many clients will reference these resources during their treatment.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in mental health counseling.
- Experience implementing harm-reduction strategies and engaging clients in collaborative treatment planning tailored to individual goals.
- Strong interpersonal communication abilities, enabling effective partnership with clients and support teams.
