This position is entirely remote, allowing you to design a work-life balance that suits your needs. While you will primarily conduct evaluations and counseling sessions via telehealth platforms, all necessary tools and technologies will be provided to ensure you can deliver the highest quality of care. You will enjoy a supportive work culture that encourages professional development and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Counselor at Unity Point, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing crisis intervention services to patients who require immediate assistance, while also creating comprehensive follow-up care plans.
  • Coordinating care with healthcare teams, community resources, and institutional programs to ensure continuity of care.
  • Facilitating group therapy sessions in various settings as directed, promoting a collaborative therapeutic environment.
  • Completing all required documentation accurately and on time, including statistical reports to support departmental objectives.
  • Actively participating in clinical supervision and case conferences, contributing to the treatment planning process and sharing insights to foster better patient outcomes.
  • Potentially conducting psychological testing and supervising interns or student volunteers for practical learning experiences.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population includes individuals facing a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. You will work with diverse clients, which may include children, adults, and families from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Your expertise will be pivotal in tailoring treatment plans that respect each patient’s unique circumstances and goals.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of New York, or eligibility to obtain such licensure.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Preferred Experience

While all qualified individuals are encouraged to apply, the following experience is preferred:

  • Prior experience in a mental health counseling role, particularly within telehealth settings.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and familiarity with culturally competent care practices.
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and care coordination.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from USD 115,000 to 130,000 per year. In addition to competitive pay, Unity Point Mental Health Center offers a robust benefits package that includes:
