Baer is looking for SAP IBP Demand Planning Consultant for a 6+ month remote project.
Title: SAP IBP Demand Planning Consultant
Location: Remote (with travel to client sites as required including Atlanta, GA)
Duration: 6 months
Rate: Hourly Plus Expenses Reimbursed
Alignment: W2 or C2C
Overview
The IBP Demand Planning Consultant will design, configure, and implement SAP IBP for Demand, focusing on statistical forecasting and end-to-end demand planning. This hands-on role will work closely with business planners and delivery teams to build a practical forecasting solution that supports accurate, reliable, and actionable planning.
Description:
  • Configure SAP IBP for Demand, including planning levels, key figures, forecast models, and statistical forecasting.
  • Design and optimize forecasting methods, including model selection, seasonality, outlier detection, and forecast accuracy measurement.
  • Configure end-to-end demand planning processes, including baseline forecasts, planner overrides, promotions, events, consensus demand, and forecast release to supply.
  • Design demand planning hierarchies and aggregation/disaggregation across products, customers, locations, and time.
  • Configure forecast accuracy and bias measurements, including MAPE, WMAPE, and related KPIs.
  • Support new product introductions, phase-in/phase-out planning, and reference product or like-modeling approaches.
  • Configure demand sensing and short-term forecasting capabilities when required.
  • Build practical IBP Excel add-in planning views and Fiori applications for demand planners.
  • Configure application jobs and job chains supporting the demand planning calendar.
  • Perform unit testing and support SIT and UAT, including defect analysis and resolution.
  • Partner with the Master Data Lead to ensure required demand master data and historical sales data are available.
  • Support demand planner training and provide hypercare during initial planning cycles after go-live.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of SAP demand planning experience, including SAP IBP for Demand and/or SAP APO DP.
  • Experience with at least two full-lifecycle SAP IBP for Demand implementations.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical forecasting, including seasonality, model selection, outlier treatment, MAPE, WMAPE, and bias.
  • Hands-on experience configuring IBP planning levels, key figures, forecast models, and planning views.
  • Practical experience with the SAP IBP Excel add-in and Fiori planning applications.
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to explain forecasting concepts clearly to business users.
