Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Product Marketing Director to lead the strategic positioning, messaging, and go-to-market execution for Technosylvas innovative wildfire and extreme weather risk management solutions, with a primary focus on utilities and wildfire agencies. This role will bridge product development, sales, customer success, and marketing to ensure that our solutions effectively meet the needs of our customers and are positioned as the industry standard. The ideal candidate is well-roundedcapable of both strategic thinking and hands-on executionand brings domain credibility spanning utilities, wildfire, and/or extreme weather operations.


Responsibilities

  • Market Strategy & Positioning: Develop and refine product positioning, messaging, and value propositions that clearly communicate the benefits of Technosylvas solutions to utilities and fire agencies.
  • Sales Enablement: Create compelling sales materials, including presentations, case studies, whitepapers, and competitive/pricing analysis, to support the sales team in engaging utilities and new client sectors.
  • Customer Insights & Competitive Analysis: Conduct market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and competitive dynamics, translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Demand Generation & Campaigns: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted demand-generation campaigns that drive awareness and lead conversion among utilities and large enterprise clients.
  • Product Evangelism: Develop as a thought leader and spokesperson for Technosylva, engaging with customers, partners, and industry influencers through webinars, conferences, and media appearances, with a focus on utility industry events and stakeholders.
  • Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy: Support the development and execution of GTM plans for new product releases, ensuring successful adoption and revenue growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, sales, and customer success teams to align product marketing efforts with business objectives.
  • This is a dynamic role, at a key early growth point in the life of the company and the go to market team. Things will need doing, and someone smart and motivated to identify them and do them, inside or outside of the job description.


Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in roles spanning strategy/innovation, product marketing, management consulting, or product management, particularly in the areas of strategy, growth, or market entry.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, public policy, economics, or a related field (preference for MBA, relevant Masters Degree, or PhD).
  • Strong track record of problem-solving and delivering measurable performance in prior roles - in or out of product marketing.
  • Experience in strategic decision-making, execution, and driving business impact through marketing initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing GTM strategies for enterprise technology products.
  • Exceptional storytelling and messaging skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for enterprise clients. If you aren't jazzed by burrowing into the technical weeds to come up with something meaningful to customers, this isn't the job for you.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and analytical skills. If you've demonstrated super-strength in Xcel, Powerpoint and Word (or their Google equivalents), that's usually a good sign.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use AI tools to enhance workflows, including content development, messaging iteration, competitive analysis, research synthesis, and sales enablement.


Preferred

  • Preference for candidates with experience working in or directly with North American utilities.
  • Strong understanding of wildfire risk management, grid/storm operations, utilities, infrastructure resilience, and energy markets is a plus, but performance, attitude and aptitude are more important.
  • Preference for experience training teams, including sales, customers, or internal stakeholders.
  • Experience in competitive analysis, market research, and customer segmentation for utilities and energy companies.
