How much do remote deck watch officer jobs pay per year?

As of Jul 17, 2026, the average yearly pay for remote deck watch officer in the United States is $68,646.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $47,500.00 and $83,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

A Remote Deck Watch Officer is a specialized maritime role that typically requires maritime training and certifications rather than a college degree. High-paying jobs that can reach $4,000 a week without a degree often include skilled trades such as commercial fishing, offshore drilling, or certain sales positions, but these roles usually demand specific skills, experience, or licensing. Most jobs paying this amount without a degree are in industries where practical skills and certifications are prioritized over formal education.

How much does a deck watch officer make?

A deck watch officer typically earns between $50,000 and $80,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and the size of the vessel. Salaries can vary based on the employer and the region, with additional compensation for overtime and onboard allowances.

What jobs will no longer exist in 2030?

Remote Deck Watch Officers are unlikely to exist in 2030 as maritime technology advances, automation increases, and ships rely more on AI and sensors for navigation and safety. Many traditional roles in shipping and maritime monitoring are expected to be replaced or significantly transformed by automation and digital systems. Job roles requiring manual observation and routine monitoring may decline as technology becomes more integrated into maritime operations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Deck Watch Officer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Deck Watch Officer, you need strong navigational knowledge, maritime certifications (such as STCW), and experience in vessel operations. Familiarity with electronic chart display and information systems (ECDIS), radar, and remote monitoring technologies is typically required. Excellent situational awareness, decision-making, and communication skills are vital for managing safety and coordinating with onshore and offshore teams. These competencies ensure safe vessel navigation and operations, even when monitoring and control are conducted remotely.

What jobs pay $500,000 a year in the US?

High-paying roles for a Remote Deck Watch Officer are rare, as such positions typically do not reach $500,000 annually. Most jobs with this level of compensation are executive or specialized roles in industries like finance, law, or technology, often requiring advanced degrees, extensive experience, and leadership responsibilities. Maritime or deck officer roles generally have lower salary ranges, even at senior levels.

What is the difference between Remote Deck Watch Officer vs Remote Navigation Watch Officer?

Industry UsageMaritime shipping, vessel operationsMaritime shipping, vessel navigation

The Remote Deck Watch Officer primarily oversees deck safety and vessel operations from a remote location, focusing on deck activities. In contrast, the Remote Navigation Watch Officer concentrates on navigation and route monitoring. Both roles require maritime certifications and are integral to vessel safety, but they differ in their specific responsibilities and work environments.

What are Remote Deck Watch Officers?

Remote Deck Watch Officers are maritime professionals responsible for monitoring and managing a vessel's operations from a remote location using advanced communication and navigation technologies. They oversee the ship's course, speed, and safety by analyzing data feeds, surveillance systems, and communication with onboard crew. This role is becoming more common as shipping companies adopt automation and remote control technologies for increased efficiency and safety. Remote Deck Watch Officers must have strong maritime knowledge, situational awareness, and technical proficiency to ensure smooth and safe vessel operations.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote Deck Watch Officers and how can they be managed effectively?

Remote Deck Watch Officers often face challenges such as maintaining clear communication with on-site teams, navigating time zone differences, and managing vessel monitoring duties from a distance. To overcome these, it's important to establish reliable channels for real-time updates and regular check-ins, as well as to stay organized with shift schedules. Familiarity with remote monitoring technology and proactive problem-solving skills are key to ensuring vessel safety and efficient operations, even when working offsite.

Job description

BRAINS & MOTION EDUCATION
Jr. Training Coordinator
Department: Operations & Curriculum Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Type: Full-Time Location: Remote Compensation: $23/hour
About BAM!
Brains & Motion Education (BAM!) is a nationwide K-8 enrichment provider delivering high-quality after-school and in-school programs across the country. We are a fast-moving, mission-driven team that takes the quality of our instruction seriously - and that starts with how we train and support our people.
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Jr. Training Coordinator to join our Operations team. In this role, you will be the engine behind BAM!'s training content lifecycle - organizing, publishing, and refining the materials that prepare our instructors to deliver exceptional programming. You'll work closely with the COO and Ops leadership to produce polished training modules, coordinate instructor training schedules, and help us continuously improve how we develop our people at scale.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of instructional design, project coordination, and creative content production.
Key Responsibilities
Training Content Management
  • Organize, review, and maintain BAM!'s training content library across Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Slides) and our Moodle LMS
  • Publish and update training modules, ensuring content is accurate, current, and accessible to the right audiences
  • Collect and synthesize feedback from instructors, program managers, and leadership to inform content improvements
  • Maintain version control and naming conventions across all training assets

Content Development Support
  • Assist the COO and Ops team in building training modules, slide decks, and facilitator scripts using tools including Claude AI, ChatGPT, Google Slides, and other relevant platforms
  • Support the creation of visually engaging, clearly written training materials aligned to BAM!'s instructional standards
  • Contribute to the writing, editing, and quality review of scripts, assessments, and module copy

Training Scheduling & Coordination
  • Coordinate instructor training sessions in partnership with BAM!'s Operations Directors and Program Managers
  • Manage scheduling logistics, calendar coordination, and communication with training participants
  • Track training completion and flag gaps in compliance or participation

Qualifications
Required
  • 1-3 years of experience in a training, operations, education, or content coordination role
  • Strong written communication skills with keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Calendar)
  • Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to support content creation and editing
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Collaborative, proactive attitude - comfortable asking questions and flagging issues early

Preferred
  • Experience designing presentations or instructional content (slide decks, facilitator guides, e-learning modules)
  • Background in writing or reviewing training materials, scripts, or educational content
  • Familiarity with a Learning Management System (LMS) - Moodle experience a strong plus
  • Basic video editing skills or a genuine willingness to learn (e.g., CapCut, iMovie, Adobe Premiere) - hands-on training will be provided
  • Background in education, EdTech, or enrichment programming is a bonus

What We Offer
  • A collaborative, mission-driven team where your work has direct, visible impact
  • Hands-on experience with modern AI-assisted content workflows
  • Exposure to operations leadership at a growing national education company
  • Remote work environment with a collaborative, mission-driven team
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life insurance, 401k with a up to a 4% match, Voluntary Pet insurance, HSA, FSA, DSA.

BAM! is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We encourage candidates who don't meet every listed qualification to apply. We hire for potential and attitude as much as experience.
