Job Description Job Title: Death Claims Specialist Location: Remote (USA) Duration: 4+ months + Possibility to Extend and/or Convert to FTE Pay Rate: $22-$27/HR (W2 Only) Job/Role Description: This role supports the death claims team within our client's retirement services division, specializing in research and communication related to death benefits. This position will assist with researching and locating beneficiaries for life insurance and retirement accounts, and will be responsible for sending claims letters and processing death benefit claims. This position will ensure high-quality service delivery through thorough research, professional written and verbal communication, and adherence to service level agreements.

Research and locate beneficiaries using internal systems and external resources Draft and send professional claims correspondence and letters to beneficiaries Handle inbound and outbound phone calls to beneficiaries regarding death claims Navigate internal systems to process and track death benefit claims Provide clear and empathetic communication regarding sensitive death benefit matters Research and resolve discrepancies related to beneficiary information Maintain accurate documentation and records of all research and communication activities Collaborate with team members to ensure timely resolution of death claims Identify opportunities for process improvements within the claims and research workflow Report key performance metrics to management Required Qualifications 1+ year of experience in insurance, financial services, or retirement services Background in claims processing, customer service, or call center operations Strong research and investigative skills with the ability to locate individuals using various resources Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional letter drafting Comfortable with outbound phone communication and explaining sensitive information to beneficiaries Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Highly self-motivated and directed Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks Strong customer service orientation and empathy when handling death claims Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Long tenure with previous employers preferred Preferred Qualifications Experience with death claims, death benefits, or beneficiary research Experience with Omni or similar claims/recordkeeping systems Prior experience in the retirement services or 401(k) industry Call center experience in a high-volume environment Healthcare sector experience Experience with letter writing and professional correspondence
