Job description

Overview

Liquibase is the leader in Database Change Governance and Database DevOps. We help organizations accelerate software delivery by automating database change while strengthening governance, security, compliance, auditability, and control across complex enterprise environments.

As enterprises modernize software delivery and adopt AI-assisted and agentic development workflows, database change is becoming one of the most critical governance control points in the software delivery lifecycle. Liquibase leads this category by helping organizations ensure that every database change - whether created by a developer, pipeline, platform team, or AI agent - is safe, compliant, auditable, and delivered with confidence.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to help advance Liquibase's leadership in Database Change Governance. This role will own strategic product areas across ecosystem integrations, deployment connectors, policy content, regulatory compliance, security, and risk evaluation.

This is a high-impact role for a seasoned product manager who understands that large enterprises do not simply need faster database deployments — they need governed, secure, compliant, and measurable change delivery at scale.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of bringing enterprise software products to market, strong execution discipline, and deep empathy for Fortune 500 and regulated enterprise customers operating in complex DevOps, data platform, security, and compliance environments.

Who You Are

You are a seasoned product manager who has successfully brought enterprise software products to market. You are comfortable with ambiguity but disciplined in execution. You can go deep with technical teams, speak credibly with enterprise customers, and communicate clearly with executives.

You understand that large enterprises do not just need faster delivery — they need safer, governed, compliant, and auditable delivery. You are excited about helping Liquibase become the standard for Database Change Governance in the AI era.

You are collaborative, pragmatic, flexible, and outcome-oriented. You know how to balance customer needs, technical feasibility, business impact, and long-term platform strategy. What You'll Own

You will help define and advance Liquibase's leadership position in Database Change Governance by shaping capabilities that make Liquibase the enterprise standard for governing database change across applications, environments, teams, pipelines, and data platforms.

Key areas include:

  • Enterprise database change governance workflows
  • Policy enforcement across development, test, staging, and production
  • Visibility across applications, teams, environments, and deployment pipelines
  • Audit-ready evidence for database change activity
  • Risk-based controls for database deployments
  • Governance of both human-generated and AI-generated database changes
  • Executive-level reporting on compliance, control, and operational risk
Ecosystem Integrations & Deployment Connectors

You will lead product strategy and roadmap for Liquibase integrations across the enterprise software delivery ecosystem, including CI/CD platforms, source control systems, deployment platforms, ITSM workflows, security tools, observability systems, and cloud/data platforms.

Your goal will be to make Liquibase a natural part of existing enterprise workflows, enabling customers to embed Database Change Governance into DevOps, platform engineering, security, compliance, and operational processes.

Policy Content, Security & Compliance

You will own product direction for policy content and compliance-oriented capabilities that help enterprise customers enforce database change standards at scale.

You will work closely with customers, field teams, security stakeholders, and engineering to define policy capabilities that support regulatory, operational, and internal governance requirements.

Key areas include:

  • Policy check content strategy
  • Regulatory and compliance mappings
  • Enterprise policy templates
  • Security and governance rule libraries
  • Audit-ready evidence and reporting
  • Compliance workflows across environments, applications, teams, and deployment pipelines
  • Support for frameworks such as SOX, PCI, HIPAA, GDPR, internal risk controls, and enterprise change management standards
Responsibilities
  • Define and own roadmap and execution plans for ecosystem integrations, deployment connectors, policy content, compliance, security, and risk evaluation capabilities
  • Translate Liquibase's strategic direction into clear product outcomes, phased initiatives, measurable business impact, and differentiated market positioning
  • Help establish Liquibase as the enterprise leader in Database Change Governance by clearly articulating customer pain, market opportunity, competitive differentiation, and business value
  • Engage deeply with enterprise customers, prospects, field teams, partners, and internal stakeholders to understand pain points across DevOps, data platforms, security, compliance, audit, and enterprise change management
  • Turn strategy into clear requirements, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, release plans, and measurable success criteria
  • Partner closely with engineering, architecture, design, documentation, security, customer success, sales, marketing, and leadership to deliver high-quality product capabilities to market
  • Use customer evidence, product telemetry, market analysis, competitive insight, adoption data, and business impact to prioritize product investments
  • Define and monitor KPIs that measure product success, including governance adoption, policy coverage, integration adoption, compliance workflow efficiency, enterprise expansion impact, and time-to-value for new enterprise customers
  • Support positioning, messaging, enablement, customer validation, and go-to-market execution in partnership with product marketing, sales, customer success, and leadership
Must Haves
  • 6+ years of product management experience delivering enterprise software products to market
  • Proven track record owning product areas from discovery through launch, adoption, and iteration
  • Strong understanding of enterprise ICP needs, especially Fortune 500 or regulated enterprise environments
  • Experience working with DevOps, CI/CD, platform engineering, infrastructure, or data platform products
  • Ability to translate complex technical, security, and compliance requirements into clear product capabilities
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
  • Experience using AI to improve product management workflows, such as customer discovery, research synthesis, competitive analysis, prototyping, or product execution.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, architecture, design, go-to-market, and leadership teams.
  • Strong execution discipline, flexibility, team orientation, and can-do attitude.
Nice to Haves
  • Experience with ITSM systems such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar platforms
  • Experience with SIEM, observability, security operations, or audit platforms.
  • Familiarity with Liquibase, Flyway, database migration tools, or enterprise change management workflows
  • Experience with policy-as-code, compliance automation, risk scoring, or governance platforms
  • Experience with AI-assisted product workflows, LLMs, prompt engineering, or agentic AI technologies
  • Background working with enterprise security, compliance, platform engineering, database administration, or audit stakeholders.
  • Experience building ecosystem integrations, APIs, SDKs, or partner/platform capabilities
