Job description

General Summary:

The IT Enterprise Data Architect is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving ConnectWise's enterprise data architecture across the internal technology estate. This role establishes enterprise data models, canonical and semantic data layers, data classification standards, and field-level mapping frameworks that enable reliable business operations, analytics, integrations, and AI initiatives. The role works in partnership with Internal IT, Data Engineering, Information Security, Business Applications, Integration, and Product & Engineering teams to ensure enterprise-wide data consistency, governance, interoperability, and strategic alignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Owns and continuously evolves the enterprise data model spanning core corporate systems.
  • Designs and governs canonical data objects, entity relationships, data taxonomies, and classification standards.
  • Establishes enterprise-wide field-level mapping standards and integration design principles across systems and through the Boomi integration platform.
  • Defines semantic and canonical data layers that support enterprise analytics, AI, and automation initiatives.
  • Provides architecture leadership for Salesforce, Snowflake, NetSuite, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Leads data architecture activities related to mergers and acquisitions, including data mapping, integration strategy, and enterprise data alignment.
  • Partners closely with Data Engineering and Information Security teams to ensure data quality, governance, compliance, lineage, and protection requirements are met.
  • Performs hands-on data analysis, profiling, querying, and validation activities to support architecture decisions and data quality initiatives.
  • Establishes and maintains enterprise data standards, governance processes, metadata practices, and architecture documentation.
  • Serves as a key contributor to the Data Architecture Working Group and provides guidance on strategic architecture decisions.
  • Collaborates with technical and business stakeholders to drive enterprise-wide adoption of data architecture standards and best practices.
  • Communicates recommendations, risks, and strategic direction to leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Recognized subject matter expert in enterprise data architecture, data modeling, and governance.
  • Deep experience designing enterprise data models, semantic layers, canonical data structures, and master data strategies.
  • Advanced knowledge of Salesforce data architecture, including highly customized environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, SQL, Microsoft Fabric, and Boomi integration architecture.
  • Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, lineage, classification, and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience designing data solutions that support enterprise AI, machine learning, analytics, and automation use cases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex data challenges and drive resolution.
  • Ability to influence and establish standards across teams without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage large-scale strategic initiatives independently with limited supervision

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise data architecture, data modeling, data governance, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Snowflake, NetSuite, and Boomi.
  • Experience supporting enterprise AI, analytics, digital transformation, or M&A integration initiatives preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in Salesforce, Snowflake, Boomi, or enterprise architecture are preferred.
