Position Overview:

The Director of Data Architecture & Engineering will play a central role in ensuring Ceribell's systems and data architecture support the organization's strategic objectives by shaping and managing our technological and data infrastructure. This role bears the primary responsibility for facilitating communication and execution across Commercial, Engineering, Financial, Infrastructure, and Security teams, ensuring that our systems drive organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and flexibility. This role will translate ideas and early-stage prototypes from business stakeholders into robust, scalable, and maintainable internal tools, ensuring each one fits cohesively within our broader enterprise architecture. It requires exceptional leadership, communication, project management, and collaboration skills, as well as the proven ability to influence diverse stakeholders, navigate cross-functional matrices, and drive consensus quickly.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and execute the enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring it supports overall business objectives and long-term vision.
  • Provide leadership in defining and designing the architecture for systems, applications, data, AI, and technology infrastructure, with an emphasis on reuse and coherence across tools.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and executive team to ensure technology solutions align with business needs and goals.
  • Establish and document architectural standards, guidelines, best practices, and processes across the organization.
  • Create and maintain architectural roadmaps that outline the future state of technology to meet business priorities.
  • Identify and evaluate AI tools, emerging technologies, and modern data platforms for integration into internal workflows.
  • Own and evolve Ceribell's data architecture, including stewardship of the data warehouses and data pipelines that bring together information from across the business.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing enterprise architecture team.
  • Select and manage relationships with external vendors and third parties involved in delivering architecture solutions.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate ideas and prototypes into production-grade internal applications.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by your Manager/Supervisor

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT architecture or software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred; will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
  • Strong knowledge of AI/ML, data platforms, cloud-native technologies, software engineering tools, and distributed system design to deliver measurable business impact.
  • Experience transforming tech landscapes with multiple SaaS, custom, and enterprise business applications with a focus on reuse, simplification, and cost efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data quality, data governance, data privacy, and analytics/reporting, including pipeline design and systematic data quality practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to understand business objectives and processes and translate them into effective technology strategies.
  • Experience in developing long-term technology roadmaps and financial plans for technology investments.
  • Prior experience as a developer or architect in enterprise data systems such as Snowflake, Salesforce, or NetSuite preferred.

Compensation:

San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and New York City Metropolitan Locations: $210K - $272K
All other National Locations: $210K - $239K

Compensation Range
$210,000—$272,000 USD

A candidate's final salary offer will be based on their skills, education, work location and experience, and thus it may differ from the posted range. Compensation may also include bonuses consistent with Ceribell's corporate compensation plan.
