The Sales Analyst is responsible for creating reports, interpreting data, and providing actionable insights to support decision-making in a dynamic sales division. This role will collaborate with leaders to focuses on business planning, sales performance analysis, and identifying growth opportunities. The Analyst contributes to planning meetings, delivering market intelligence to guide strategies. Key responsibilities include mastering business planning, performance evaluation, inventory management, pricing strategies, and demand forecasting. The role requires proficiency in analyzing customer behavior, brand performance, sales trends, and market dynamics, while ensuring compliance with business rules.

Job Description:

This position will be required to commute to Middletown, Delaware semi-frequently depending on business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Perform data analysis using tools like PowerBI, SAP WebIntelligence, and Excel.
    • Generate standardized and ad-hoc reports and create analytic presentations to support decision-making and strategic initiatives.
    • Analyze sales metrics and uncover opportunities using internal and syndicated data, delivering actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
    • Research market trends, conduct GAP and competitor analysis, and identify growth, innovation, and competitive opportunities to drive revenue, profitability, and market share.
    • Prepare Quarterly Business Reviews, "Top to Top" decks, and other business review materials, including ad-hoc requests.
  • Business Planning and Strategy Support:
    • Collaborate with leaders to develop business plans, track initiatives, and prepare materials such as sales plans, business reviews, and performance assessments.
    • Develop metrics for key initiatives, track channel performance, and provide survey analysis to inform strategies.
    • Partner with revenue management and demand planning teams to analyze pricing models and manage inventory levels, optimizing costs and product availability.
  • Sales Materials and Goal Management:
    • Produce sales materials, manage goal-setting processes, and assist in preparing presentations for business reviews and planning meetings.
    • Administer sales incentive plans and ensure performance tracking and reporting align with company standards and supplier partnership expectations.
  • Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder's supervisor, may also be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in business analytics, business planning and/or equivalent analytics role
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
  • Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Analytic and Reporting skills
  • Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Excel and other analytical system tools/databases (e.g., SAP WEBI/BOBJ, PowerBI, Connected Excel, TABS Analytics, Nielsen, etc.)
  • Proficiency leveraging syndicated (Nielsen, IRI, etc.), consumer, shopper research and/or category management data
  • Sales or Marketing experience with major CPG company
