Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Sunny Valley Psychotherapy Center, your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments for new patients to identify their needs and therapeutic goals.
  • Providing individualized therapy sessions via telehealth, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Engaging in family therapy sessions to strengthen relationships and resolve conflicts within family units.
  • Implementing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as appropriate for your clientele.
  • Documenting patient progress and treatment interventions using our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system efficiently.
  • Participating in regular team meetings to collaborate on patient care strategies and share insights.
  • Providing referrals to community resources as needed to support clients in their overall wellness journeys.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your therapeutic services will cater to a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, adults, and families from various cultural backgrounds. We emphasize the importance of understanding each client’s unique cultural context, beliefs, and values to tailor treatment approaches effectively. You will be expected to utilize your bilingual skills (Spanish and English) to expand access for our Spanish-speaking population, enhancing their engagement and therapeutic outcomes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications:

  • Hold a Master’s Degree from an accredited graduate program in Counseling, Marriage and Family Studies, or a related field.
  • Possess a valid and active LMFT license with no restrictions.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in both written and verbal communication, with the ability to conduct therapy in Spanish and English.
  • Have a minimum of two years of experience in a mental health setting, demonstrating your effectiveness in working with children, adults, and families.
  • Show cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse family customs and individual needs.
  • Exhibit strong knowledge of relevant therapeutic modalities, particularly CBT, TF-CBT, or EMDR.
  • Experience in specialized areas such as trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, grief and loss, or perinatal mental health.
Preferred Experience

We would prefer candidates to have experience providing short-term and group therapy, significant engagement with EHR software, and a track record of managing insurance panel memberships as an in-network provider.
