Full-Time Position

Opportunity

A well established, growth-oriented construction contractor is seeking a Construction Estimator to support preconstruction and bidding efforts across heavy civil infrastructure projects throughout the Northeast.

This Role supports the preparation of project estimates by performing quantity takeoffs, developing bid schedules, soliciting subcontractor and vendor pricing, evaluating risk, and maintaining estimating process consistency.

What You’ll Do (Essential Duties & Responsibilities)Estimating Support
  • Review bid documents to develop a full understanding of project requirements
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and develop estimate components
  • Compile complete estimates and proposal documents for submission
  • Assist in developing bid schedules aligned with estimate strategy
  • Determine resource needs including labor, materials, and equipment
  • Evaluate risks and constructability considerations
Subcontractor & Vendor Coordination
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotes (RFQs)
  • Source, evaluate, and pre-qualify subcontractors and vendors
  • Review quotes for scope compliance and best value selection
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors and subcontractors
Collaboration & Process
  • Work with project managers, engineers, and estimators to develop viable means and methods
  • Coordinate with leadership to support pricing strategy and profit targets
  • Support estimate hand-off to the Project Manager after award
  • Ensure schedules align with enterprise planning and project requirements
  • Maintain consistency in estimating processes and data entry
  • Represent the company professionally at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • None initially; opportunity to grow into mentorship responsibilities

What You Bring (Qualifications & Education)Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation is a plus
Experience
  • Approximately 5 years of estimating experience within construction or heavy civil projects
Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with estimating software such as InEight or similar preferred
  • Familiarity with P6 scheduling is a plus
  • AutoCAD or equivalent experience is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Strong desire to learn and grow professionally
