JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Summary: The Territory Sales Manager provides a competitive edge for Brakebush by driving sales and managing customer relationships located within their territory. Through excellent customer service, product knowledge and a strong sales process, this front-line position promotes and secures new sales on our high-quality products. Their results are crucial to short-and long-term Regional Sales planning.

Territory: Region 23 - Mid-Atlantic

Essential Functions: Territory Sales Managers serve two key management roles:

 

Distributor Sales Management:

    • Participate in distributor ride-with-program.
    • Negotiate marketing programs and conduct professional business reviews
    • Gain valuable open code product slots through new product presentations.
    • Collaborate with Regional Manager to develop and implement distributor sales SPIFFs and promotions.
    • Train new distributor sales team on Brakebush product and sales tools.
    • Manage pricing and target margins.
    • Represent the Brakebush brand at food and trade shows.

  Operator Sales Management:

    • Manage and update product mix with new items at existing operator account base.
    • Advise new and current customers on food trends, menu concepts and product cross-utilization.
    • Call on and sell to a wide variety of operator segments (independent restaurant, schools, C-stores, pizzerias, and healthcare)
    • Respond to and close on referrals and qualified Marketing-generated opportunities.
    • Implement operator programs, coupons and menu allowances

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum five-years industry sales experience
  • Residence within one-hour of the assigned territory
  • High level of professional sales process and interpersonal "soft skills" (prospecting, building rapport, presentation, negotiation, handling objections, customer service, closing)
  • Thorough knowledge of distributor and operator accounts within assigned territory.
  • Ability to learn and apply basic culinary skills necessary for product presentations
  • Effective and self-sufficient time management, planning and organizational skills
  • Competent in business productivity software (MS Office); ability to learn company-specific CRM
  • A valid driver's license in good standing (DOT regulations)
  • Credit card accessibility with reasonable available credit limit

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education/degree  
  • Prior experience as a Broker or Manufacturer Sales
  • High skill level with numerous systems/programs:  Blacksmith, SAP, CRM.
  • Culinary experience

Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment: This position involves driving on a regular basis to meet customers; desk/office work and food show environments.   

Physical Demands: Long periods of sitting, driving, and walkingSome lifting during food/trade shows and product presentations (30 lb. lift requirement)  

Travel: Almost daily travel within territory; Minimum of 25% travel that includes overnights (outside of territory/state for regional and annual national sales meetings, conventions, food shows, etc.)
