Job Description

This role provides instructional support to instructors delivering academic courses in classroom, laboratory, or workintegrated learning settings. The position involves direct interaction with students-individually or in groups-to supplement and reinforce theory delivered by program instructors. Duties may include supporting inlab activities, grading, providing remedial or tutorial assistance, and completing related administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently deliver in-lab technical lessons

  • Evaluate student technical abilities using existing assessment tools

  • Grade assignments using existing rubrics

  • Independently supervise students

  • Provide tutorial/remedial services to students

  • Provide feedback to students

  • Participate in transfer credit activities

  • Set-up, adjust, calibrate, dismantle technical equipment

  • Organize and distribute learning materials

  • Invigilate exams

  • Administrative duties

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of program-related equipment, dairy pasteurization, and cheese making

  • Knowledge of program-related policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of training methods, techniques, and practices

  • Understanding of education delivery methods, practices and techniques

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Culinary Arts required

  • Journeyperson or Red seal certification in Culinary Arts required

  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience

Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).

Remuneration

The compensation range for this job posting is : $65,130.30 - $86,868.96
