The Senior Domain Architect is responsible for the architecture of multiple value streams within and/or across multiple lines of business. Senior Domain Architects engage with the business to understand and align to the enterprise vision. They collaborate with architecture stakeholders to define the appropriate architecture leveraging the Enterprise Architecture vision. The Senior Domain Architect leads and influences other architects to ensure designs are developed according to methods and standards in place.
Position follows our hybrid schedule: Monday-Wednesday in Grand Rapids MI office, Thursday-Friday remote. Minimal travel expected.


WhatYou'llBe Doing

  • Define and enforce architecture principles, standards, reference models, and runways aligned with enterprise strategy and industry best practices.
  • Create andmaintain system health maps and multi-year strategic business capability roadmaps that connect IT systems and services to business outcomes.
  • Design software and domain architectures that are robust, scalable, adaptable, and aligned with business requirements.
  • Develop conceptual and logical domain design diagrams; define major subsystems, interfaces, and non-functional requirements (including performance, monitoring, and reliability).
  • Evaluate architectural options,identifysolution gaps, and ensure consistency, reuse, and simplification across domains.
  • Lead architectural decision records and governance processes to ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards. Actively collaborate with enterprise architect representatives and processes.
  • Guide architects and delivery teams with both technical and business leadership, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy and Agile practices.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and IT partners to estimate and define features, prioritize the architectural runway, and support solution trains.
  • Work within Project Management frameworks to ensure efficient delivery, operations, and lifecycle management.
  • Advocate for domainobjectivesand act as a liaison among domain, platform, and enterprise architects.
  • Establish domain architecture governance,maintainaccuratedocumentation, and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Continuously drive FinOps optimizations to ensure fiscally responsible Cloud usage
  • Lead the Architecture group for a large team of teams by setting and driving an overall vision; proactively guide and mentor the team of Architects
  • Performadditionalduties asrequired.

WhatYou'llBringWithYou

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience/training).
  • 10+ years of experience in business application design, development, implementation, or solution architecture.
  • Experience with structured design and diverse technical environments, includingstrongunderstanding of technical architecture components.
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions in Azure including underlying Infrastructure as Code (IAC)
  • Proven technical leadership with the ability to guide teams across the domain lifecycle and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Strong knowledge of project management concepts and cross-functional delivery.
  • Experience with the Agile Framework orchestrated across many teams.
  • Ability to translate business needs into architecture requirements and articulate solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive architectural direction, reduce technical debt, and guide security and compliance awareness.
  • Experience evaluating technical proof-of-concepts and emerging technologies; self-driven curiosity and market awareness.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, negotiation, organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to understand both long-term strategic perspectives and short-term tactical needs.
  • Ability to foster relationships across IT, business teams, and vendors; communicate requirements and guidelines effectively.
  • Ability to estimate financial impacts and apply multiple technical solutions to business problems.
