This role is primarily remote, allowing the Mental Health Counselor to provide services from their own home, while still being an integral part of our community health clinic. Working hours will generally be Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility required to meet patient needs. • Conduct thorough and culturally sensitive mental health assessments to comprehend patients' unique experiences and formulate tailored treatment plans.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to provide effective care tailored to individual patients' cultural and personal contexts.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions that address a range of mental health concerns, helping patients develop resilience and improve overall well-being.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care, enhancing patient outcomes.
• Deliver crisis intervention support to clients experiencing mental health emergencies, utilizing de-escalation techniques and immediate therapeutic strategies.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources, empowering them to take charge of their mental health journey.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential patient documentation in adherence to legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record systems.
• Participate actively in case conferences, professional development workshops, and cultural competency training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Engage with ongoing research and current best practices in mental health therapy, ensuring that treatment approaches are in line with the latest findings.

The ideal candidate will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds, LGBTQ+ communities, and immigrant populations. Each therapist will have the opportunity to deliver tailored care that respects and understands the multifaceted challenges these populations face. The role is pivotal in addressing disparities in access to mental health services and promoting a more inclusive healthcare landscape.

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is a minimum requirement.
• Must hold a current license as a Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to connect with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong understanding of cultural competence in mental health care.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while being a proactive member of a collaborative team.

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or Counseling, preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience providing mental health services to multicultural populations.
• Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities and a commitment to continued education in mental health practices.
