Job description

This teamis responsible forsupporting Japanese corporate clients doing business in the Americas. You willbe responsible forcredit risk management. Work with andassistAccount Officers to service the Bank's corporate client base. Develop and analyze all types of credit information, complete documentation (including projections), prepareanalysisand makeappropriate recommendations.Assistin relationship management and promotion of non-credit business asrequired.

Responsibilities

General:

  • Financial statement analysis of borrowers and their parentcompanies;

  • Preparation of credit applications, including new applications, renewals,amendmentsandextensions;

  • Preparation of various applications relating to non-credit business such as fee waiver, daylight overdraft,etc.;

  • Credit rating, both for borrowers and for eachfacility;

  • Credit monitoring including conducting covenantchecks;

  • Asset qualityassessment;

  • Relationship management and promotion of non-credit business withclients;

  • Information gathering related to clients' business,industriesand marketcompetitors;

  • Correspondence with clients to answer various requests andinquiries;

  • Correspondence with other Mizuho offices to exchange informationregardingMizuho's business strategy toward a specific client, business conditions of a parent company,etc.;

  • Maintenance and updating of creditfiles;

  • Preparation for regulatory examinations and internal/externalaudits;

  • Preparation of creditdocuments;

  • Preparation of documents related to both credit and non-creditbusiness;

  • Arrangement of business meetings with clients,etc.;

  • Other duties asdeterminedbymanagers.

Compliance:

  • Obtain a basic understanding of the applicable rules and regulations that govern theBank;

  • Understand that all questions and/or clarification about such rules and regulations should be directed to the Legal & ComplianceDepartment;

  • Attend Annual Compliance Training presented by the Legal & ComplianceDepartment;

  • Read and respond as necessary to all compliance-related materials received.Comply withthe Bank's Code of Conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics

  • Prior banking, ratingagencyor other financial institution experience is preferred

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English isrequired

  • Prior experience in financial statements / cash flow / credit analysis highly preferred

  • Good analytical, organizational and communication skills

  • Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

  • Eligible to work in the US

The expected base salary ranges from $90,000 - $100,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
