The Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the credit granting process, including assessing the creditworthiness of potential customers, managing existing accounts, and ensuring compliance with company credit policies.
They will collaborate closely with various departments such as sales, finance, and operations to mitigate credit risk while supporting business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
Credit Analysis:
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential customers by analyzing financial data, credit reports, and other relevant information.
  • Assess credit risk and establish credit limits based on company policies and industry standards.
Credit Policy:
  • Developing and implementing credit risk policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the bank's lending activities are conducted in a prudent and controlled manner.
  • Continuously review and update credit policies to adapt to changing business needs and market conditions.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on credit policies and best practices.
Portfolio Management:
  • Monitoring the bank's credit portfolio to identify and address potential risks and ensuring that credit exposures are diversified and balanced.
  • Reviewing and approving credit decisions made by the lending team to ensure they align with the bank's risk appetite and credit standards.
Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare regular reports on portfolio growth, performance and diversification.
  • Analyze credit data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and make recommendations to senior management.
  • Monitor economic indicators and industry trends to anticipate changes in credit risk.
Team Management:
  • Leading and managing the credit department, providing guidance to team members and fostering a strong credit culture within the organization.

Education amp; Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) preferred.
  • Previous experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, financial analysis, or related fields is highly desirable.
Knowledge amp; Skills:
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial statements and assess credit risk.
  • Proficiency in using financial analysis software and databases is a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in credit management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
