Job description

Koniag Professional Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Scrum Master to support KPS and our government customer. The position is remote. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

Koniag Professional Services is seeking a skilled Scrum Master to lead Agile practices and empower cross-functional development teams in delivering high-quality client solutions. This pivotal role involves acting as a servant leader. The Scrum Master will foster collaboration, promote self-organization, and champion Agile values across the team to drive performance and organizational agility.

 

Note: This position may require occasional travel to client sites in Washington, DC and Atlanta, Georgia, as well as to the company office in Chantilly, Virginia, based on business needs. Travel to a federal badging office will be required one or more times during onboarding and/or throughout employment to complete credentialing requirements.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

The ideal candidate should support the following functions:

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coach teams and the organization on Agile principles to foster continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Remove impediments and shield teams from external distractions to maintain focus and productivity.
  • Promote self-organization, cross-functional teamwork, and transparency using metrics and visual tools.
  • Support backlog refinement and maintain documentation of team practices and working agreements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Professional Scrum certification
  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach
  • Demonstrated experience leading Agile teams through full project lifecycles
  • Experience with Agile project management tools, familiarity with JIRA
  • Deep expertise in Scrum, Agile methodologies, and scaling practices for complex projects and programs.
  • Strong command of Agile metrics, backlog refinement, and technical practices that support team agility and accountability.
  • Excellent communicator and servant leader who fosters collaboration, balances team advocacy with business goals, and engages diverse stakeholders.
  • Monitor and manage cross-team dependencies to ensure alignment, mitigate risks, and maintain delivery timelines across all initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess risks across all initiatives to proactively identify issues, mitigate impact, and support informed decision-making.
  • Develop comprehensive support and knowledge transfer documentation to ensure continuity, scalability, and effective onboarding across teams.
  • Experience working in federal Government environments
  • Experience with remote Agile teams
