The Role

As the Global Experiential Creative Director for HOKA, you will define and shape the brand's presence across the physical landscape-elevating how HOKA comes to life in stores, activations, and key global moments. You'll lead the conceptualization, design, and execution of seasonal storytelling across retail and experiential platforms, translating product narratives into immersive, three-dimensional environments. Your work will blend strategic rigor with creative excellence, driving innovation in spatial design to amplify brand expression and deepen consumer connection. You'll act as the steward of the brand within physical spaces, ensuring consistency, quality, and a best-in-class consumer journey across all touchpoints globally. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is key, as is a passion for elevating the consumer experience.

Your Impact

  • Direct HOKA's global physical storytelling and experience design, collaborating with regional teams (NA, EMEA, APAC)
  • Provide creative leadership for retail expression and pop-up activations, focusing on elevated consumer experiences
  • Create unique in-store experiences and campaigns that drive awareness and conversion for product launches and brand programs
  • Collaborate with Brand Creative to deliver integrated campaigns across retail, social, and digital platforms
  • Lead and inspire a team of in-house and freelance designers to deliver asset packages for stores, brand moments, and corporate gates
  • Partner with HOKA Marketing to extend and connect global creative across the HOKA ecosystem
  • Drive understanding of consumer journey, visual hierarchy, and IRL activations for an elevated brand experience
  • Define and develop storytelling strategies for brick-and-mortar, ensuring compliance and consistency across stakeholders
  • Concept and design immersive brand experiences in physical, digital, or hybrid environments
  • Stay at the forefront of trends and technology, driving innovative solutions within HOKA's physical ecosystem
  • Oversee projects throughout the production cycle, ensuring creative vision from concept to execution
  • Analyze, strategize, and translate creative briefs into actionable directives
  • Lead reviews, provide constructive feedback, and present ideas clearly to diverse stakeholders
  • Establish creative excellence for design, storytelling, and experiences within the brand
  • Inspire and motivate the team, fostering a culture of diversity, collaboration, creative exploration, and risk-taking

Who You Are

  • Bring 10+ years of design experience in an agency or in-house team
  • Have at least 5 years in a senior creative leadership position, leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Hold a BA in Graphic Design or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experienced in creative design, seasonal storytelling, and activations for stores and events
  • Possess an authentic connection to performance lifestyle brands and value-driven companies
  • Have a diverse portfolio reflecting sophistication in architecture, interior design, graphic design, typography, layout, and in-store storytelling campaigns
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Figma), Microsoft Office, and familiar with project/asset management tools
  • Strategic thinker and creative conceptualizer, pushing ideas and projects in new ways
  • Inspirational leader, passionate about mentoring and developing creative teams
  • Excellent communicator and presenter, able to articulate design concepts to diverse stakeholders
