Job description

The Attorney will serve as a key member of a small legal team, directly reporting to a senior attorney. This role focuses on representing clients primarily in consumer bankruptcy cases, requiring frequent court appearances and a strong ability to manage cases efficiently. The position offers solid opportunities for career growth within the firm, supported by continuing legal education. This is a part-time position offering 20 hours per week with opportunities for additional work and eventual full-time offer if desired.


Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in consumer bankruptcy cases
  • Conduct thorough legal research
  • Draft legal documents and filings
  • Analyze case facts and advise clients appropriately
  • File and manage court documents promptly
  • Consult with clients to assess and guide legal options

Preferred Qualifications

  • Entry-level experience in bankruptcy law
  • Jurisdictionally licensed Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • Admissions to the State Bar of Texas and Southern District of Texas
  • Knowledge of legal research techniques
  • Skills in client counseling and case management
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving abilities
