Position Overview

The Step to Freedom Counseling Center is actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our dynamic team. As a full-time remote counselor, you will play a pivotal role in providing therapeutic services to individuals facing emotional challenges, substance use disorders, and various other mental health issues. This position offers an attractive salary range of $70,000 to $100,000 per year, along with a hire-on bonus to support your transition into our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans, ensuring that they meet regulatory standards and best practices in mental health care.
  • Engage in consultation with clinical teams to create pre-crisis and crisis plans tailored to the unique needs of clients.
  • Assemble and complete necessary documentation promptly, upholding the highest standards of compliance while utilizing evidence-based tools indicated by the clinical team.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to implement effective positive behavior support plans that promote long-term recovery and emotional resilience.
  • Participate actively in licensing and accreditation processes, contributing to maintaining the agency's high standards of care and accountability.
  • Act as a liaison to relevant service systems, state agencies, and community partners, thereby enhancing our network and ensuring clients receive comprehensive support.
  • Nurture open lines of communication with community partners and stakeholders, working towards the common goal of enhancing mental health services in the region.
  • Seek to build alliances with local, state, federal, and private agencies to identify new partnerships, funding sources, and resources for our clients.
  • Pursue ongoing personal and professional development through participation in conferences, trainings, and other growth opportunities, representing the agency within relevant forums.
  • Integrate and promote the agency's mission, values, and principles into your daily interactions and programming.
  • Perform any additional duties as designated by the Clinic Director that align with your expertise and the organization’s objectives.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Step to Freedom, you will provide services to a varied patient population, including individuals with emotional health concerns, those in recovery from substance use disorders, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in mental health or a related field is required.
  • An independent LMHC license in the state of Massachusetts is necessary, or willingness to pursue licensure in Massachusetts if licensed in another state, with the agency covering associated fees.
