Position Overview

Inland Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team. This position offers the unique opportunity to work in a remote outpatient setting, providing comprehensive support to individuals facing mental health challenges, particularly in the realm of addiction recovery. Work Environment

This role allows for a full-time remote work arrangement while maintaining the close-knit community ethos that characterizes Inland Counseling Center. Our outpatient facility serves as a hub for our counselors to help individuals from various backgrounds navigate their recovery journey. You will have the flexibility to manage your schedule within a structured framework, adhering to core office hours from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough crisis assessments and interventions for individuals experiencing acute mental health emergencies.
  • Provide immediate support and counseling to clients in distress, tailoring interventions to meet their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency response personnel as necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of clients in crisis.
  • Deliver follow-up care and strategically recommend resources and options for ongoing support.
  • Utilize crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations effectively.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance crisis counseling skills and therapeutic techniques.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on individuals coping with substance misuse and addiction, often intertwined with trauma and emotional crises. Counselors at Inland Counseling Center are pivotal in fostering healing connections, helping clients navigate their personal recovery pathways through empathy and cultural sensitivity.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
  • At least three years of recent experience in crisis intervention and mental health counseling.
  • Proficiency in employing evidence-based crisis intervention techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with clients.
Preferred Experience
  • Additional training or specialization in crisis counseling and trauma-informed care.
  • A proven track record of delivering counseling services to clients in acute mental health crises.
  • Experience in creating personalized crisis intervention plans based on rapid assessments.
  • Thorough understanding of ethical and legal standards in mental health practice.
