Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology.

Come be a part of what's next. The Role At the end of 2022, we launched a new ad-supported tier to offer our members more choice in how they consume their content. Our ad-supported plan allows us to attract new members at a lower price point, while also creating a compelling path for advertisers to reach audiences that are deeply immersed and invested in Netflix content.

To help us deliver this compelling experience, we're looking for a highly ambitious, visionary, and experienced Senior Product Designer who will help shape Netflix's ads consumer experiences for our users. This includes crafting innovative ad formats tailored to our wide variety of content and experiences, innovating within our existing ad canvases, and creating the future of advertising on Netflix. You will also partner closely with other product designers working across our various member experience teams to deliver a delightful, engaging, and highly relevant Ads experience for our Netflix members.

This will be a remote-friendly role, with the freedom to set a flexible work-from-home schedule. This role would be best for candidates located in California or in the Pacific time zone, as semi-regular travel will be required to collaborate with stakeholders and partners in Los Angeles, Los Gatos, and New York. That said, we can always make exceptions in location for the right candidate.

About Our Team Our team designs the ads consumer experiences for Netflix. These experiences span our entire product and empower our advertisers and sponsors to reach our members while maintaining the highest bar for the overall member experience. We also design the foundational features that make the Ads plan distinct from our other plans, helping our members maintain control and transparency of their advertising experience.

Our primary superpower is the ability to design creatively and collaboratively in highly complex, AI-accelerated environments, balancing the needs of our members and our advertisers through rigorous testing, empathy, and expertise. We leverage a diverse set of design and creative skills, and we're increasingly using AI as a core part of how we work, prototype, and innovate. You'll be one of the lead designers who crafts these experiences and shapes the future of advertising across our product.

More specifically, you'll be a critical part of one of the most talented and forward-thinking advertising design teams in the world, at the forefront of AI-native product design. Why You'll Love Our Team We're big on individual responsibility and smart on process. Work with stunning, supportive designers on problems that matter.

Top of market compensation and benefits, flexible time off, and work-life-balance. Flexibility to balance work-from-home and in-office work, so long as you're able to be onsite for meaningful moments of collaboration. Freedom and flexibility to craft your own AI-augmented design workflow, while harnessing Netflix's world-class design system and tooling.

Meaningful financial support for further education and professional growth, including AI and emerging technology learning. An inclusive environment to help you do your best work and feel genuinely supported. What You Will Do Lead the design and execution of Netflix's ads consumer experiences across a variety of surfaces, using AI tools to accelerate exploration, prototyping, and iteration.

Build and contribute to GenAI-powered pipelines that scale creative fulfillment and personalization across all ad formats, partnering with engineering and data science to move from one-off executions to intelligent, repeatable systems that serve members and advertisers at Netflix scale. Identify, research, and drive the future of our ads experiences strategy, leveraging AI-powered insights and experimentation to inform decisions. Design and enable an industry-leading advertising privacy and regulatory experience for Netflix members.

Establish principles that ensure a best-in-class advertising experience across multiple content types, with a forward-looking perspective on how AI is reshaping the ads landscape. Craft design briefs that provide business, design, and engineering clarity for critical initiatives. Collaborate with engineers, product managers, content designers, data scientists, and business teams to develop and innovate on the future of ads, using AI as a core part of the design toolkit.

Prototype and validate new AI-driven ad experiences, including personalized formats, intelligent ad placement, and adaptive creative. What We're Looking For 8+ years as a Product Designer (or equivalent experience) in the consumer product space, leading high-impact initiatives from concept to execution. A rich portfolio that showcases proven experience at the intersection of advertising, TV, and/or streaming, with case studies that demonstrate expertise and leadership at this intersection.

Demonstrated fluency with AI-native design practices, including the use of generative AI tools, AI-assisted prototyping, and data-informed design workflows. Experience working on privacy and regulatory experiences. A passionate energy for great design and a genuine curiosity about how AI is evolving the craft.

Strong understanding of advertising best practices and industry trends for ads on TV and web, including emerging AI-driven ad formats and personalization. Work that highlights the balance between empathy for users and understanding advertiser needs. Deep understanding of advertising across all media types and knowledge of best practices on digital products.

Experience constructing high-fidelity prototypes of consumer experiences that leverage video, motion, and increasingly, AI-generated content. Excellent communication skills that excite stakeholders and articulate a vision. Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail, including writing documentation to support your design decisions.

Experience in video production and editing tools. Experience in web advertising and/or marketing design. Experience in live TV broadcasting and/or TV advertising.

Experience working directly with advertisers to deliver their vision. Even Better: Experience designing and delivering digital ad formats, including AI-personalized or dynamic ad units. Experience in the creation and fulfillment of digital and/or video advertising campaigns.

Familiarity with how machine learning and AI systems influence ad targeting, delivery, and measurement, and how that shapes the design of consumer-facing experiences. Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, video motion graphics, and video editing tools (such as After Effects and Final Cut Pro). Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses.

You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $350,000.00 - $520,000.00

This compensation range will vary based on location. Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs.

Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off. Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off. See more details about our Benefits here.
