Job description

Your Opportunity as the Associate Manager, Category Strategy - JJP & ICT

In this role you will be the go-to category expert, responsible for providing in-depth category, consumer and shopper expertise to field category leadership, sales, insights, brand marketing and innovation teams. Key responsibilities include insight activation and strategy alignment (internal and external), identification of white space category opportunities, guidance on successful category strategies, development of materials to support strategic customer partnerships and internal cross-functional collaboration.

Location: Working Remote USA

In this role you will:

  • Develop Category Leadership 4P Guiding Principles and compelling category strategies that drive the category and the customer / retailer's future growth potential

  • Leverage available data and insight resources to identify and create new insights and category opportunities

  • Translate category strategies into action plans by providing customizable guidance and recommendations for placement, product mix, pricing, and promotion for the category, aisle and total department as appropriate

  • Understands the competitive marketplace in which JMS and customers operate

  • Develop material for Top-to-Top meetings with key customers

  • Communicates insights and learnings both internally and externally to a wide variety of audiences

  • Collaborates and influences across various cross functional partners

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 4+ years of Consumer-Packaged Goods Industry experience

  • 3+ years Shopper Insights or Category Management experience

  • Customer facing experience

  • Proficient in leveraging IRI, Nielsen and Panel Data

  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving, and storytelling experience

  • Experience building relationships within customers / retailers

  • Experience in analysis of shopper / consumer-based CPG information

  • Excellent organization and written / verbal communication skills

  • Ability to develop and translate insights into actions

  • Strategic mindset to help build and execute effective plans

  • Business & Financial Acumen

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):

  • Planogramming/Planogram software experience (Ex. JDA, EZPOG)
