As a Field Engineer, you will support the Project Superintendent and project team in executing daily site operations and ensuring construction activities are delivered safely, accurately, and efficiently. This role is hands-on and site-focused, providing critical support in layout, coordination, documentation, and quality control throughout the construction process.

Key ResponsibilitiesSite Operations & Field Support
  • Support daily site operations in coordination with the Project Superintendent.
  • Assist with concrete take-offs, ordering, placement, and coordination of materials.
  • Support building layout activities, including basic surveying principles, equipment use, and interpretation of construction requirements.
  • Communicate field information clearly between site teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Construction Documentation & Interpretation
  • Interpret contract drawings, specifications, details, sections, and floor plans.
  • Ensure understanding of construction documentation as it relates to field execution.
  • Assist in resolving on-site discrepancies by referencing contract documents and coordinating with the project team.
Scheduling & Progress Monitoring
  • Assist in understanding and tracking construction schedules.
  • Monitor site progress against schedule milestones.
  • Report on daily and weekly site activities to support project tracking and reporting requirements.
Quality Control & Construction Methods
  • Assist the Superintendent with field activities as required.
  • Support quality control and quality assurance processes on site.
  • Document site progress through reports, photos, and field records.
  • Help ensure construction work aligns with project specifications and standards.
Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Support the enforcement of Health & Safety policies and procedures on site.
  • Promote a safe working environment with a strong commitment to hazard awareness and prevention.
  • Participate in site safety activities and help maintain a zero-tolerance approach to unsafe work practices.
QualificationsEducation & Experience
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Previous construction or field experience is considered an asset.
  • Exposure to construction site operations and coordination is beneficial.
Technical Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and site operations.
