Job Description

AECOM has an excellent career opportunity for a creative, highly talented Senior Project Manager for immediate employment in our Virginia Beach, VA location.
The selected individual will assist in the development of task order proposals; support the management team in tracking task budgets, monitor activity schedules, and implement product quality standards; and otherwise support the Project and Program Managers. The Project Manager will assist in the management of technical and administrative staff on a wide variety of complex projects worldwide.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • This position will manage and lead federal projects and programs, for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC), the U.S. Air Force, or other Federal Agencies.
  • Ensure project completion within budget, schedule, and in conformance with specifications.
  • Review contracts and sub-contracts and assist  management of subcontractors.
  • Monitor project financials and report to the Project Manager.
  • Develop and maintain design schedules for approval.
  • Manage and direct professional and technical staff to complete complex architectural and engineering projects.
  • Resolv field-initiated questions with the technical design team.
  • Coordinate and direct activities among the design groups.
  • Participate and attend design review meetings recording meeting minutes and tracking action items.
  • Coordinate the development of project deliverables with the design team.
  • Participate in building and maintaining a positive client relationship.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture + 6 years of relevant  industry experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Registered Architect, Professional Engineer (PE) license, or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) is required for this position.
  • Project Management Experience.
  • Professional experience developing design reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Professional experience in managing subcontractors.
  • Professional experience in services during construction, including answering RFI's and reviewing submittals.
  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required.
Additional Information
  • 8+ years of Project Management experience in architecture, engineering, or the field of construction management.
  • Experienced with DoD projects.
  • Security Clearance (or ability to obtain) preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), or related licensure/registration (or ability to obtain with one year).
  • Basic familiarity with AutoCAD, BIM a plus.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Suite, SharePoint (or similar collaboration tools) and remote communications applications such as Teams, Zoom, etc.
