Job description

VetsEZ is seeking a HealthShare / InterSystems IRIS Developer to join our fully remote team. This role is ideal for a hands-on InterSystems developer who actively codes in ObjectScript, works extensively with the IRIS / HealthShare Management Portal, and builds, tests, and supports healthcare integrations and services.

The candidate must reside within the continental United States.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, debug, and document ObjectScript-based solutions within InterSystems IRIS and HealthShare
  • Develop and maintain HealthShare productions, including business services, processes, and operations
  • Work directly in the IRIS / HealthShare Management Portal for configuration, troubleshooting, and runtime analysis
  • Build and maintain FHIR, HL7, and REST-based integrations
  • Develop and optimize custom ObjectScript classes, APIs, and interoperability components
  • Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, and refactoring of existing HealthShare solutions
  • Support Tier 3 application-level issues, including message flow debugging, data validation, and production errors
  • Collaborate with architects, QA, and DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines for InterSystems applications
  • Assist with OAuth, SSO, and security configuration as it relates to application behavior and integrations
  • Contribute to technical documentation and developer best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-5 years of professional software development experience, with 2+ years developing on InterSystems Cache, IRIS, or HealthShare
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • ObjectScript development
    • IRIS / HealthShare Management Portal
    • HealthShare productions and interoperability framework
  • Experience developing and consuming:
    • FHIR APIs
    • HL7 v2
    • RESTful web services
  • Experience debugging production message flows and application-level issues
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts as they apply to InterSystems application deployments
  • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
  • Understanding of Agile or SAFe development methodologies

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting VA or federal healthcare systems a plus
  • Exposure to Jenkins, Git, or automated deployment pipelines for InterSystems applications a plus
  • InterSystems certifications (IRIS, HealthShare, or Cache) a plus
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance required
