Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments tailored to the specific needs of older adults, considering their cognitive, emotional, and physical health.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that integrate evidence-based therapeutic interventions for issues such as depression, anxiety, and adjustment disorders.
• Implement group therapy and family therapy sessions, addressing the unique psychosocial dynamics faced by elderly patients and their families.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care, enhancing client outcomes.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding mental health disorders and treatment options, empowering them with knowledge and resources to support their journey.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential client records that meet all legal and ethical standards, using electronic health record systems for documentation.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on serving the elderly population, who often contend with complex mental health issues like dementia, depression, and anxiety, alongside comorbid health conditions. Understanding their unique life experiences and challenges will allow you to develop effective, individualized therapeutic approaches that promote healing and resilience.

Qualifications

• Education: A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: A current, active, and valid license as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT within the state of California.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred.
• Skills: Profound understanding of geriatric mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities, with experience in delivering individual and family therapy.
• Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to foster rapport and trust among older clients and their families.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in providing mental health care via teletherapy platforms.
• Background in working within multi-disciplinary teams focusing on geriatric psychiatry.
• Familiarity with community resources available for older adults, enhancing the support network for clients.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $130,000 annually. In addition, we offer a robust benefits package that includes:
