Job description

Position Overview

Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic is seeking a dedicated and flexible Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team. This full-time remote position focuses on providing intensive in-community therapeutic services tailored specifically for children with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. If you are passionate about making a significant impact in the lives of children and their families, we encourage you to apply.

About the Organization

At Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic, we are committed to enhancing the emotional and psychological well-being of children and families. Our mission centers around offering comprehensive youth and family support services to primary caregivers of children and teens facing developmental and intellectual disabilities. We aim to empower families through effective therapeutic interventions and collaborative support, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Work Environment

This remote position allows for flexibility, enabling therapists to conduct individual and group therapy sessions based either in clients' homes or through our outpatient office located in Phoenix, Arizona. Given the current focus on community-based services, this role provides therapists with the opportunity to engage with clients in their natural environments, enhancing the therapeutic process. We foster a collaborative and supportive atmosphere where clinicians have access to ongoing training and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver personalized individual and group therapy sessions that promote emotional healing and behavioral improvement for children facing various psychological challenges.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions to address issues such as anger management, coping skills, and social skills development, targeting high-risk behaviors including self-injurious behavior and physical aggression.
  • Work closely with youth and their caregivers to enhance decision-making skills and effectively manage in-home behavioral challenges, contributing to a safer and more nurturing environment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and educational professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to each child's care.
  • Complete all necessary documentation promptly, including intake forms, detailed treatment plans, and progress notes, in alignment with regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings, contributing insights and recommendations for improved therapeutic strategies and outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of our work involves a diverse population of children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 who face developmental and intellectual disabilities. This role requires a specific sensitivity to the unique challenges these children encounter, as well as to their familiesโ€™ experiences. As a therapist, you will play a crucial part in helping these youth navigate their social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties, providing them with the tools necessary to lead fulfilling lives.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
  • An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license in Arizona.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with flexibility for weekend sessions being a plus.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and access to a registered vehicle are necessary for travel to client locations.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing positive behavior support to children exhibiting challenging behaviors.
  • Prior experience working with children aged 3-20, particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese, as this can greatly enhance the therapeutic engagement with our diverse client base.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary in the range of USD 60,000 to 80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a dynamic work environment, our benefits package includes:

  • Group health coverage to ensure your well-being.
  • Annual paid time off for rest and rejuvenation.
  • Short and long-term disability insurance for peace of mind.
  • A 401K plan to help you save for your future.
  • Continuous opportunities for professional growth, including ongoing training tailored to your career development.
Career Growth Opportunities

Joining Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic offers you the opportunity to grow in your career through specialized training and mentorship. As our clinic expands, there may be additional opportunities for leadership roles in a variety of therapeutic programs, as well as the chance to participate in research or advocacy initiatives aimed at improving care for children with developmental challenges.

Why Join Our Team

We believe in the power of teamwork and collaboration. Our clinicians are the heart of our organization, and we actively support their professional journey. By joining our team, you'll have the chance to make a profound impact on the lives of children and families while working within a supportive, dynamic environment where your contributions are valued. If you are looking for a role that is both fulfilling and offers extensive growth opportunities, Healthy Mind and Wellness Counseling Clinic is the place for you.
