Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, documenting case details from initial consultation to the conclusion of treatment.
  • Develop and implement individualized recovery and intervention plans for a diverse range of clients, including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing therapeutic techniques tailored to the needs of the participants.
  • Regularly monitor and assess client progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals, primary care providers, and community resources to coordinate holistic care for clients.
  • Conduct follow-ups with psychiatrists for clients who require hospitalization or more intensive therapeutic support.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, paired with exceptional interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Experience
  • Proven experience in a mental health counseling role, demonstrating comfort in conducting individual and group therapy.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR or similar platforms.
  • Background in managing clients with co-occurring physical and emotional health issues, including addiction disorders.
  • Knowledge of best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • Understanding the effects of psychotropic medications prescribed by medical professionals.
