As a Mental Health Counselor at our organization, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments and evaluations to identify clients' unique mental health needs and developing tailored treatment plans to address their specific challenges.
• Delivering evidence-based therapeutic services to clients through individual, group, and family sessions using methodologies that may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions.
• Collaborating closely with case managers, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans that best support clients' recovery journeys.
• Providing immediate crisis intervention for clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies, ensuring they receive the compassionate care they need during high-stress situations.
• Engaging in community outreach efforts aimed at promoting mental health awareness, including public seminars and workshops that educate the community on available resources and coping strategies.

Our clientele is diverse, representing a wide array of cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds. You will work with individuals suffering from various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and more complex psychological issues. Your role will not only focus on addressing these challenges but also on normalizing conversations around mental health, helping clients cultivate resilience and coping strategies in their everyday lives.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A master’s degree or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to establish rapport and foster therapeutic relationships with clients from varied backgrounds.
• Cultural competence, demonstrating sensitivity and understanding when working with diverse populations and addressing their unique needs.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities, notably in completing documentation efficiently while adhering to best practices and state regulations.

While a general background in mental health counseling is required, experience in community health settings or working with underrepresented populations will be highly valued. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and a practical understanding of the technological tools used for remote therapy sessions will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
