This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on individuals facing severe mental health challenges while working within a compassionate and patient-centered healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about serving diverse populations in medically underserved areas and will possess the clinical expertise to support individuals experiencing symptoms of major mental illness or severe emotional disorders.

About the Organization

Substance Abuse & Mental Health Counseling Services is committed to promoting healthier communities by providing high-quality, safe, and patient-centered healthcare services. Our focus is on serving medically underserved areas, ensuring that our services are available to all individuals, regardless of their ability to pay. We strive to be a model for other health centers, guided by our mission and vision to provide exceptional care that addresses the unique needs of our clients.

Work Environment

This position is primarily remote, giving you the flexibility to balance work and life while collaborating with a close-knit team of professionals dedicated to mental health and substance abuse recovery. As part of our Hospice Centerโ€™s team, you will contribute to an enriching work culture that supports continuous learning, teamwork, and personal growth. You will engage with clients and colleagues virtually and may occasionally travel to meet clients or attend community events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly and compassionately with clients in both community and remote settings, conducting assessments to identify mental health concerns and developing tailored treatment plans.
  • Maintain an active caseload, providing individual, group, and family therapy sessions that focus on empowerment and informed choice for clients.
  • Create integrated care plans that facilitate service access for clients, collaborating closely with family members and other providers in the community.
  • Conduct brief, evidence-based screenings and further assessments as needed to ensure a comprehensive understanding of client needs.
  • Participate as a vital member of a team, sharing insights and collaborating on common goals while demonstrating respect for diverse cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
  • Oversee safety protocols by identifying and reporting unsafe situations within the work environment, ensuring that all procedures adhere to organizational and professional standards.
  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary, assisting clients in navigating immediate challenges and connecting them to vital resources.
  • Ensure timely completion of documentation, reports, and other data submissions in accordance with our organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on clients suffering from major mental illnesses and severe emotional disorders. This includes individuals from varied backgrounds who may be facing complex challenges that require a sensitive and informed approach. Our clients often come from underserved communities, which allows you to engage deeply with populations that have historically limited access to mental health services.

Qualifications
  • A valid and unrestricted Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license.
  • A Bachelorโ€™s degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in mental health or substance abuse settings, with a focus on direct client care.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to build trust with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Dedication to continual professional development and adherence to ethical guidelines.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with integrated care models and an understanding of community resources available for clients.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote therapy practices.
  • Background in working with diverse populations and addressing cultural competence in clinical work.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is between USD 70,000 and 85,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for continuing education and professional development.

Joining our team opens up pathways for career advancement within the organization. We encourage our staff to pursue further training, certifications, and leadership roles as we foster a culture of growth and development. Your contributions directly impact the lives of many, making this a deeply rewarding career choice.
