• Conduct in-depth assessments to evaluate the severity and specifics of mood disorder symptoms in clients, utilizing standardized diagnostic tools and clinical interviews.
• Collaborate with clients to design tailored treatment plans that reflect their unique circumstances and goals, embedding patient preferences into therapeutic strategies.
• Implement evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to effectively address client challenges.
• Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment pathways, and coping strategies, facilitating informed decision-making.
• Track and monitor clients’ progress throughout the therapeutic process, adjusting treatment plans based on documented outcomes and clinical judgement.
• Work closely with psychiatrists and healthcare professionals within an interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic care for clients, sharing insights and collaborating on medication management when necessary.
• Stay informed on the latest research and best practices in treating mood disorders, actively seeking opportunities for professional development.
• Maintain precise confidential records of client sessions, assessments, and treatment plans, always adhering to ethical and legal guidelines within the mental health field.
• Engage in team meetings and case consultations, contributing knowledge and experience to enhance overall team effectiveness and client care.
• Advocate for the mental health needs of clients, utilizing local resources and community initiatives to support service accessibility and reduce stigma.

Your primary focus will be on individuals experiencing various mood disorders, including depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related illnesses. Our clients represent a wide range of backgrounds, and your role will involve establishing rapport to create a trusting therapeutic relationship, essential for facilitating effective treatment.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of New York.
• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for mood disorders, including CBT and DBT.
• Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and successful collaboration with psychiatrists and medical professionals.
• A proven track record in achieving successful outcomes in treating mood disorders effectively.
• Exceptional communication skills that facilitate rapport with clients from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

• Experience working in a remote setting or telehealth environment is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in community mental health services or outpatient clinic settings is a plus.
